What is now called the City of Pueblo used to be four separate towns, Pueblo, South Pueblo, Central Pueblo and Bessemer, that were brought together because of ore mines. In 1993, the United States Congress proclaimed the city was �America�s Home of Heroes.� The city hosts a National Medal of Honor Day since it has had as many as four living Medal of Honor recipients living in Pueblo.

Pueblo has four seasons, but you�ll find lots of sunny days no matter what month it is. With an average yearly high of 93 degrees in July and an average yearly low of 14 degrees in January, you get to enjoy the snow and the sunshine.
How do I get around town?
Most people travel into Pueblo by car. There is a local bus system, a rideshare program and you will see a few people biking. But since Pueblo apartments are centrally located, it isn�t far to get to where you want to go.

Interstate 25 runs directly through Pueblo, bisecting it north and south. There are a number of smaller roads that go through Pueblo for travel east to west, the biggest of which is state highway 50. There are some who commute from Pueblo into Colorado Springs/Fort Carson, so there is traffic on I25 during morning and afternoon commute times.

Since Pueblo is still cowboy country, it�s no surprise that country music is popular on Nash FM 95.1. There is also Pueblo�s Greatest Hits KPHT 95.5 and Magic 98.9. The primary local newspaper in Pueblo is The Chieftain.

Pueblo has the small town appeal of the southwest with the added beauty of the Colorado Mountains. One of the most iconic features of Pueblo is the Historic Arkansas River Walk where you can walk along the river and shop, eat, and ride in a gondola. If you enjoy museums, there are a few to choose from including: El Pueblo Historical Museum, the Rosemont Museum and the Steelworks Museum.
Any annual festivals or Pueblo events to know?
The biggest celebration of the year in Pueblo is the Colorado State Fair in late August. There are rides, games, and music, everything you�d expect, but Pueblo also offers rodeo, bullfighting, monster trucks and demolition derby. If that wasn�t enough, there�s also the Chili and Frijoles Festival in late September where you can get every sort of pepper imaginable.
Where are the nearby vacation spots?
Traveling to nearby Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs is a quick drive, while further away are skiing opportunities in Breckenridge and Aspen. The wonderful art scene in Santa Fe, New Mexico is to the south and if you prefer vacationing in a bigger city, there�s Denver with its breweries, the Broncos, the Front Range.
Where is the best place to move in Pueblo?
There are many great neighborhoods in Pueblo, the largest of which is known as Pueblo West. It�s a planned community with a variety of outdoor activities. If you aren�t ready to buy, there are apartments in Pueblo West you can rent and still get that community feel. If Colorado State University Pueblo is what�s drawing you to the city, a few blocks away from the campus is a nice little neighborhood with apartments and homes and the Walking Sticks Golf Course, one of the best golf courses in the country according to Golf Digest.
