If you're moving into a city and don't know it very well, how do you figure out the best part of town to live in?

You could also try using our neighborhood and city Living Guides that have a plethora of useful information on neighborhoods and cities all over the United States. You are able to research restaurants, nightlife, apartments, parks, universities and much much more near the apartments that you are looking at. It's really a great tool. Where ever it is you are looking, I would suggest driving around the properties at night, look at the activity level, and see if you are comfortable with it.

I know this may seem a little out there, but go to the city's visitor center. You'll find all types of literature about all the facades of the city. From the tourists attractions to the night life. This info, coupled with your personal interests, will point you towards the part of town that you not only are most comfortable with but will enjoy the most as well. Try it! P.S. - If you're single, it's a great way to meet fun and interesting people.
