Auburn Overview

Dubbed as “The loveliest village on the plains,” Auburn is a town with a lot of heart and soul. Much of Auburn’s activity revolves around Auburn University. It’s a picturesque Southern town with a lot of culture, warm and sunny skies, and natural scenery wherever you go.

What is the history of Auburn?

Auburn was incorporated in 1839. As several schools were established, it quickly became a popular spot for families to settle. How do I get around town?

Auburn is one of the most bike-friendly small towns in America. The Tiger Transit bus system transports students and university workers around campus and to nearby apartments. There is one regional airport (AUO), and two other airports about 2 hours away from Auburn, the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport(ATL) and the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport(BHM).

What is the Auburn commute like?
