What is the history of Bremerton?
Bremerton was a city created in 1891 by a businessman from Seattle, William Bremer, and an immigrant from Germany. It has long been a thriving naval city, since around that same time, the Navy purchased Point Turner between the inlets to build a large shipyard there. That area eventually became the Puget Sound Navy Yard. It had a huge population of people working in the shipyards during WWII, so the pride of this fact is very evident in the history of the city. ItÆs estimated that around 12,00 people still work there to this day.á
How is the weather in Bremerton?

What is the Bremerton commute like?
The commute to Seattle is easy if you use the Fast Ferry system that only takes less than a half-hour. In driving around town, Washington State Route 304 runs through Bremerton, as well as State Route 3. The traffic around the area of Bremerton can get a little hectic with a busy downtown area, a bustling naval shipyard still in use, and many people trying to commute on weekdays to Seattle. The city is trying to make improvements that will ease the traffic patterns at peak commuting hours.á
What are the local media outlets?
The main news network affiliates are going to come out of Seattle to service citizens that live in Bremerton. These include ABC (KOMO 4), NBC (KING 5), CBS (KIRO 7), and FOX (KCPQ 13). The newspaper is the Seattle Times, but there is also the local Kitsap Sun which is published out of Bremerton directly.
