Write a ReviewA southern suburb of the greater Boston area, Quincy apartments are in high demand with good cause. Prime in location and brimming with distinct New England charm, this working class city is an ideal place for work, home and family.
Founded in 1888, Quincy quickly established itself as a manufacturing hub in the realm of granite. Home to the first commercial railroad in the entire nation, the city found renown as the home of the first iron furnace in the U.S. as well. A number of nationally-loved brands were first established in the city, including Dunkin' Donuts and Howard Johnson's. Aviation also holds a strong historic place in Quincy, with a number of airshows calling the region home.
Winters can be harsh for residents of Quincy apartments, filled with ice and snow, while the summers tend to be warm and pleasant for the most part. Spring brings with it the rain, and fall is generally quite comfortable, if a little chilly.
Quincy apartments are always within easy travel distance, thanks to the greater Boston rail line and other options. The MBTA Red Line runs all the way to Logan Airport, and area bus service runs to much of the city at large. Taxis are plentiful, and bicycling has become increasingly popular as well. For these reasons, many Quincy apartment residents rely on public transport rather than personal cars or trucks.
The greater Boston metro area is known for its traffic congestion, and Quincy is no exception. Roadway construction seems a constant, and peak rush hour lanes can grow sluggish as early as 3pm. The Quincy area offers easy access to a plethora of art galleries and museums as well, making it ideal for students or those simply with a thirst for culture.
The Flag Day Parade in Quincy is one of the largest of its kind in the United States, and it goes without saying that the annual St. Patrick's Day festivities are lengthy given the heavy Irish-American base within the city. Block parties are common in Quincy as well, given the 'everyone knows everyone' feel of the neighborhoods, and the nearby Boston Marathon brings spectators from states away.
Cape Cod and its glorious beaches, whale watches and antiques are just an hour away from many Quincy apartments, while the lobster-filled lands of Maine are a few hours by car as well. The lakes of upstate New York make a great weekend escape, and for the truly adventurous Toronto, Canada is a roadtrip well worth consideration.
Quincy apartments of every economic scale and layout can be found throughout the city, from the lofty Adams Shore region to the working class neighborhoods of North Quincy. Merrymount is popular with families, and Marina Bay is primarily composed of highrise luxury apartments featuring spectacular water views.
