Settled in the late 1800s and primary known as an agricultural center for corn and cotton, Schertz truly came into its own with the addition of the San Antonio Railroad in 1876. The city's first school and post office soon followed, and by the early 1900s Schertz was well on its way to becoming a popular locale. A pharmacy and a hospital were soon completed, and the completion of the Randolph Airforce Base in the 1920s yielded even more residents to the city. Officially incorporated in 1958, Schertz remains a growing hotspot of the great state of Texas.

Like much of the rest of the state, those residing in Schertz apartments can expect hot and lengthy summers. Snow is a true rarity in the region, and spring rains are commonplace.
How do I get around town?

Those commuting via I-35 to San Antonio can expect daily delays during peak hours, with road construction and fender benders a constant. I-10 tends to move a bit more briskly, but is still subject to typical sluggishness during the 9-to-5 commute.

The 'Northeast Herald' and the 'San Antonio Express' both service print news to the city, with a large assortment of radio genres at Schertz rental residents' fingertips as well.
