Paul Wilson

live for today. live for fun.

If anyone qualifies for the term 'black belt Systems Engineer' it has to be Paul Wilson. Mainly because...well, he's actually a black belt (4th degree and an accomplished martial arts teacher to boot). He spent his formative years in the Navy aboard a submarine filled with explosives, shared a barber with Elvis, and once touched the shoulder of greatness during a chance encounter with David Hasselhoff in an airport. Not too shabby, eh?

When not acting as go-to systems sensei for the AHL and Auto.com staff, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife, son and their five dogs, as well as producing an internationally-acclaimed martial arts podcast. Hoping to capture lightning in a bottle twice, he is currently pursuing Hasselhoff as an eventual guest, or at the very least some of his biggest German fans.

Richard Boldway

live for more info. live for fun.

Richard works on the ApartmentHomeLiving product.

Born into the Greatest Generation, Richard served his country in the controversial Viet Nam War which instilled in him a strong sense of self determination. This determination materialized into an engineering degree and what follows. Willingness to venture, Richard started programming the Minuteman and Cruise missiles, the SDI Radar and the Aegis Defense system in C and machine language. These experiences even though very rewarding were bounded so next came the desktop client-server environment.

Richard as a consultant developed Smalltalk applications including the Automated Warehouse for Hughes S&C, Trouble Tracking for Lucent Technologies and Order Entry for Southern California Gas. This included tenure with the prestigious ParcPlace Systems were he had a brief expose to Adele Goldberg the world renown "all things possible" thinker.

As internet emerged, Richard jumped over onto the Java "train" with projects like the TigerLogic XML Aggregator and the Stealth Intellectual Property Tracker.

In December 2005 recognizing Ruby's similarities to Smalltalk and the Ruby community strength, Richard morphed himself into a Ruby on Rails technologist. Some of his ROR achievements is the Fidelity Life Insurance Policy Application and Underwriting system, the CSC Content Management System and the TALHO Health Alert System.

Today Richard is enjoying the high expectations of Classified Ventures and the high standards of his fellow CV associates.

Eric Peabody

live for the trip. live for fun.

Eric has worked on Internet technologies since 1988 while at IBM. While coming to software the long way, starting life as a guitar slinger, his hardware background has often been helpful. "From sand to systems" gives a better understanding of whole systems and their component's interactions and knowing which knobs to turn. An early advocate for object oriented software, writing in a pure OOP language like Ruby is nothing but fun and the opportunity at Classified Ventures promises to provide many opportunities to use existing skills and add new ones.

Eric has lived in many places, from California to New England but has always considered Austin home. As a Texas expatriate, Eric lived for many years in the Philadelphia area and in Poughkeepsie, New York, finally returning to Austin in 1992. Growing deeper roots in here just feels right but family ties in Martha's Vineyard make that a great place to escape the summer's heat and catch up with relations.

With good friends in Vietnam, Japan, India and Mexico, possibilities for travel are rich and varied. And with Latino friends' help, keeping Spanish a workable second language is a constant source of broader horizons in the Americas and Europe.

Eric's favorite quote is: "Do. Or do not. There is no try." - Yoda
