June 14, 2026Akron is a unique place with lots to do, but it's important to note that it is "block by block" in terms of safety and access. There are parts of the city that are run down, but there are equally areas that are very nice, accessible, close to the highway, or otherwise safe and secure. Housing is very cheap in Akron, which is great for first-time homeowners.

It's also hooked up to Cleveland, Green, Cuyahoga Falls, and other parts of Ohio by Interstate 77 (which you will get to know and love in this area). There are some areas that are less safe than others, but overall, Akron can be a fantastic place to call home.

February 27, 2025Akron is a great place to live as long as you're in the safer areas. I personally like to stick to the outskirts, preferring Cuyahoga Falls and the short jog to Akron from there, but there are also some great houses throughout the city. The traffic has the potential to get bad, especially during rush hour, which is something to keep in mind.
