Mr. Lewis
July 22, 2015I am an aspiring musician, inventor, and entrepreneur from The New York, New Jersey area. During my pursuit of success in 2008 I was called on by my grandfather to help my then ill grandmother. She was paralyzed on her dominant side which was an after effect of a stroke. I rushed to her aide putting my aspirations aside. For 4 years I washed and dressed her. I cooked, and prepared her meals, took her to her daily dialysis appointments and shopped with her. She also suffered from a bed sore ...attained while staying at an NYC hospital which prevented her from healing and regaining her self sufficient mobility. I took care of her in such a beautiful way and the entire neighborhood saw and complemented saying that one day I will be blessed for what I was doing. Sadly in November 2011 she passed away. Her son; my uncle gained ownership of her condo and 30 days after her passing he told me I had to leave. My heart was broken due to the fact that I had given so much of my life away only to be rejected by my own family. Family whom I lifted pressures of responsibility from. It felt as though he didn't care. I lost my grandmother and a place to live. I was forced to move into my grandfather's apartment. The living conditions are deplorable here. The sinks spew rust at random points of time. The bathroom sink has a constant run. The shower pipes are rusted. The pipes within the bathroom busted a few years back damaging the floor, walls, ect. I just put stick tiles on the floor so I could walk barefoot. The heating pipes (radiators) are overly painted which causes toxins in the air when it's on in the winter. My room door doesn't close. I've been actively seeking an apartment but after finally saving enough money to invest; I lost $5,000. I am currently on summer break from work as a paraprofessional so I don't start getting paid until October. That puts all of my plans to invest in an apartment, business, and all other endeavors on hold for a long while. I never ask for handouts because I have always been the type to work for ever thing I have ever owned but there is a rare occasion which is this. Why me? By helping me I will be able to get back on my feet and invest into my ventures. Focusing time and money to put together the best products for the world. I will be able to supply jobs in the future to thousands if not millions. I believe. Please believe in me. I need this opportunity. Thank you for reading. My grandfather is moving soon without me.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
