There are some rental apartments in Anaheim that are inferior in design, appeal and suffer from external obsolescence (bad influences), yet are more expensive to rent than my apartment. They could easily raise rent and get away with it, why they don't is the question. My gut tells me it is the owner's way of thanking tenants. Considering most of us have been here for many years. The best has been saved for last. When I moved in about 5 years ago, I was making great money. I was always on-time with rent and all was well. In late 2013 the financial market hit a snag and that hurt my income, became unemployed (I was a Real Estate Appraiser). For about 2 years I was working ANY odd job that I could just to generate income. Not just for me but for my mother. When my step dad passed away in 2011, I had to assume responsibility of my mother, financially that is. During the past 2 years, there were times when I fell behind 2.5-3 times the monthly rent. Each time when I felt that was it, they were kicking me out. Carmen from property management would assure me I'm okay, to continue making as many payments as I could, as often as I could. I'm now happy to report that I'm 100% caught up on rent! Instead of writing of all the perks and amenities an apartment may have; All that pales in comparison if you don't have ownership and management that looks at you as a person, maybe even as family. As opposed to looking at you as a payment and nothing more. You always hear through friends or maybe even court TV of people being evicted after missing 1 months rent. I have been blessed to have been given the opportunity to keep my apartment in the manner that they allowed. Not just for me, for my mother. Had they kicked us out, we would have been in a world of hurt. Blessed to have found this apartment!
