Dull, Damp, Cold, Ugly
April 14, 2022This building is always cold, water bills are shared with all building- never paid so much for water. Elevators are old, slow and almost never working. Cars have been broken and goods stolen multiple times in parking lot. Dont bother renting a 2 bedroom/2bathroom. Bathroom is size of shoe closet.Reseña de Apartments.com
Noisy and Not Clean
December 15, 2021We lived here for 8 months and actually paid huge bucks to break our lease because it was so bad. Really thin walls and ceilings (you hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors), dirty communal areas and trash area, inept maintenance service, freezing cold in the winter with the thinnest old windows I've ever seen, ceilings are infested with silverfish (which the manager told me was NORMAL in old buildings), the list goes on and on. The building air filtration system is horrible, during wildfire smoke ...times of the year, the building actually pulls smoke smell INTO the hallways! So toxic. Also, when my neighbors would cook food, the strong smells would enter my primary bathroom and bedroom (which shared a wall with their kitchen). Not very appealing to smell stinky food when you are lounging in your bedroom. The management was in transition when we lived there which made communication very difficult; I think they went through 3-4 managers. Pros & Cons
April 19, 2021It’s been a struggle dealing with Essex for the past 6 months! Happy our six month lease is up and we are moving out! You never see anyone in the office to help and the part time maintenance person is overwhelmed as they are usually at the other property in San Mateo. We’ve had 4 building managers in 6 months, some people are helpful and others just don’t care and have an attitude. Noisy building throughout, dog poop and pee in parking garage area, dirty pet spa, garbage shoots on each floor ...are frequently backed up, too many doors from hallways that squeak, overall the place isn’t clean, the pool is very nice but not heated. I will say the residents are nice and friendly. The dogs in the building are the best part of living here. Always nice to see all the pups. DO YOUR RESEARCH!Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com

August 17, 2015I have enjoyed living here due to the office management and how clean the maintenance people keep my building. Also my apartment is pet friendly. The management in the leasing office are always so pleasant and if you need anything done they are so fast in getting it fixed. Overall I have enjoyed by past 3 years here.Reseña de Apartments.com
