  • Worst property I’ve ever lived in

    I would strongly recommend avoiding this community. I was handed a unit that was infested with cockroaches from day one, with absolutely no warning or disclosure. As soon as I noticed the issue, I reported it, and for the entire year I lived there, all management ever did was send someone out for the same basic treatment that would maybe help for a few days before the roaches came right back. It made cooking or eating in my own apartment miserable because there were cockroaches ...
    everywhere. Every time I followed up, I was told they would take care of it, but weeks would go by with no action. Then they would repeat the exact same ineffective treatment all over again. The most frustrating part was when my lease renewal came up and they actually increased my rent. When I brought up the infestation, they claimed they didn’t know the unit had a roach problem and promised they would address it. After dealing with the issue for an entire year, why would I believe anything was suddenly going to change? Eventually I got tired of being ignored and moved out. The problems didn’t stop there. It took more than seven weeks to get my security deposit back. After multiple follow-ups, I was told the check had already been mailed through USPS. When I asked for tracking information, I was completely ignored. Only after I sent a final notice demanding my deposit back did they finally send the check. This was by far the most unprofessional and poorly managed community I’ve ever lived in. Management consistently failed to address serious issues, communication was terrible, and it genuinely felt like resident concerns were treated as an inconvenience rather than something that mattered. To make matters worse, the garbage situation was awful. The dumpsters were constantly overflowing for days at a time, and people who didn’t even live in the community would dump trash there as well. Garbage would end up piled around the overflowing bins, creating an absolute mess that management never seemed interested in addressing.

    I am very disappointed with the level of professionalism displayed by the staff. They were unresponsive, disorganized, and seemed unconcerned with providing basic customer service. Communication was poor, and requests or issues were either ignored or handled incorrectly. I expected a higher standard of service, and this experience was frustrating and unacceptable. I hope management addresses these issues to prevent others from encountering the same problems.
  • Downward trajectory for once excellent property

    Sadly this place went from being excellent to just okay. Within the last year or so there have been three different property managers and the property has suffered because of it. New managment took over in April/May 2023 and things seemed okay initially but I've noticed more so than ever before the property manager is constantly out on break when you try to go to the office, left early for the day so the office is thus closed or just out. Another issue is that for a complex of this size there ...
    is only one trash bin and only one recycle bin. It's never been a major issue before but I've noticed over the past several months the company that picks up the trash is missing days so everything is piled up, not to mention many people are leaving items by the trash that should not be there such as mattresses, tv's, bed frames, etc and it just sits there for days or even weeks before it is eventually removed.

  • Surprise Charges and Poor Communication w/ Tenants

    Rent here if you'd like surprise charges added onto your rent casually without you being informed at all about it until you confront them first, to which they respond with treating you like you are clueless about procedures that were supposed to be completed on community management's side. The leasing office staff seem to always be "on break" and when I do get to speak with someone, it's always a different person who's telling me a different story or redirecting me to someone who is not even the ...
    property manager of this community. Maintenance has been wonderful in my ~2 years of being a resident here and always repaired things in a timely manner, but the leasing office is a mess. When you reach out, no one answers and I have a paper trail to prove that easily. My partner and I have already been approved for a higher quality community in a safer area, so I'm glad to say we'll be working on moving out soon. It really is a shame because the move in process was smooth and we really loved living here once upon a time. Not sure where Michael went, but when he left this community started going downhill too and management in the leasing office was always changing after that. I'm also not sure what happened to the fence by the leasing office but it's been about a month that's been there. Come check it out when considering this place as your next place to live.

    I lived here 3 years and Kim always treated me as a friend and not a tenant. It’s a nice quiet complex , but occasionally had people parking on property to hang out or smoking marijuana, but Kim was always on top of reports and acted immediately on all items . Maintenance was questionable due to not having enough staff on hand , but eventually would get taken care of . If I had a choice and Kim was still there , I would move there again .

    I love it here. The staff is amazing, the community is not invasive at all, it looks presentable, and everything is near by! Chelsea by the Bay is my first experience in the state of Washington. It's been 8 months and to this day, I have nothing bad to say about it.

    I've lived here going on 6 years and absolutely enjoy the quiet neighborhood. I haven't had any breaking into cars or other criminal activity happen on my watch. Maintenance guy does an excellent job prioritizing what's an emergency vs not and always got things done in a timely manner.
