December 28, 2024I have been a resident of driftwood for about 7ish years? The workers are very nice and outgoing, it really needed new management and I am glad they went through with it. Positive things: Decent rent price, A lot of sunlight, welcoming feel, exceptional staff, great for pet owners. Bad things: I live on the upper floor, and I still have a huge insect problem, I can only imagine how bad it is on the bottom. Mold, thin walls, and very weak floors. I am frightened of disturbing my neighbors due ...to the excessive noise of each single step on the floor, it always creaks. I also hate HATE HATE the dog poop, ITS EVERYWHERE. There was dog poop on the steps leading to my apartment door. People do not know how to pick up their dogs waste, we complained to the office about it, and while they were really kind about it, they haven't solved the problem yet. I also wish that washer and dryer hookups were included in the apartments, I am so tired of paying and walking all away to the laundry facility with all the weight of the clothes. I was blessed with a nice renovated apartment hallway, however, when I am visiting my friends at another apartment hallway in Driftwood the first thing I notice is that disgusting stench that hits you. Only about like 3 of the apartment hallways are renovated, the rest are stuck in whatever year Driftwood was constructed with the smelly carpet and cracked walls. I wanted to move to the three bedroom apartment but it is IMPOSSIBLE to find, every now and then I check with the office to see if one is vacant but it never is. We are in a rush for a three bedroom apartment because we are a family of four in a two bedroom apartment, this may be my last year here if a 3 bedroom unit is not vaccant by the time my lease renews. If you are in a very tight situation for money, I think its a decent option compared to other apartments, however, if you have a good amount of money to spent for apartment rent, I think you should keep looking.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
I Love It Here at Driftwood Apartments
September 23, 2024I can truly honestly say that I enjoy living here at the Driftwood Apartments located at 1600 Diamond Springs Road. It was a friendly, pleasant, professional experience talking with Mrs. Lori the property manager at this location as well! She was very professional, helpful, kindhearted, all throughout the entire process from the beginning to I actually move into the my new apartment! And doing the day off move in Mrs. Lori walk me in and gave me another tour of the latest updated remodel ...apartment as well! So if you decide to move here TRUST ME you won’t be disappointed at all, HONESTLY! My neighbors are nice, friendly, pleasant, and quiet as well. I’m enjoying my new apartment that’s located surrounding plenty of restaurants, shopping centers, and only 10 minutes away from the Ocean Front Beach as well! DONT NOT MOVE HERE
April 1, 2022Staff is unfriendly, rude, and liars. Not enough Parking and no amenities. Mold, roaches, and paper thin walls. Deff not worth the money. I can’t wait to get out of my lease and be done with this place. At this point I am looking at legal action to see what can be rectified with my situation. DO NOT MOVE HERE
November 3, 2021Roaches and mold. I’m a very clean person have lived in multiple apartments and never had bugs. Saw roaches my first day moving in and exterminators can’t solve the problem and it’s been a year. There’s bugs in the staircase and whenever maintenance comes into your home be prepared to clean up after them. I would save my money and use it somewhere else. I love it here
April 8, 2021My husband and I have lived here almost a year now, we have 0 complaints. It's very quiet and simple area to live in. Price is affordable, all the neighbors are friendly and stay to themselves. Lorie is amazing and stays on top of things and is always willing to help! Maintenance is always on top of everything and usually will come same day, if not they come within 24 hours and make sure when a good time is for you, they're all also very friendly(especially Allen!) The horrible reviews on this ...website baffle me, it almost makes me think they're fake. The staff here is great and make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their stay here! Perfect little place!
August 25, 2020We love this place so far and we have been here for a year now. Lori the property manager goes super beyond and is always incredibly helpful! The place is very easy going and very clean. The property is kept up with and the maintenance is always very timely. We have had an issue with the microwave and a clog and same day they came out and handled them with ease! We don't have any issues with bugs as the exterminator is always on top of it. Parking is wonderful and no one fights over spots. This ...is absolutely worth looking at.Property Manager Responded

DRIFTWOOD IS A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE
October 29, 2019We have lived in the Driftwood Apartments for just short of 14 years, and although management has gone through some changes, it has been a very positive experience overall. First, the location is extremely convenient, on Diamond Springs between North Hampton Blvd and Shore Drive (and only a few minutes from the new Outlet Mall). Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby, and just down the road from the Little Creek base. Whichever direction you’re headed, it’s easy to get there. As for the ...rent, compared to most other apartment complexes throughout Virginia Beach area it is very reasonable. Our maintenance issues have been minimal, and when we do require assistance the response has always been timely, friendly, and professional. Al, the man in charge of maintenance, has always been terrific. When we needed a new hot water tank, they were there putting in a new one the same day. When we needed a repair to my dishwasher, they came out the same day and put in a brand new unit. Likewise with minor repairs. They have never once left us hanging waiting on a repair. The grounds are clean and well maintained, and there is always plenty of parking. The property manager, Lori, is very helpful and friendly and goes out of her way to follow up on any questions or concerns we might have. They are great about consistently and fairly enforcing the rules and dealing with those who choose not to. As for complaints by others about insects, we have had almost no trouble over all these years, and when we did, it was largely because of the sanitation habits of our neighbors. We keep our apartment clean, don’t leave food out, and don’t leave trash in the apartment. On the handful of instances when we suspected there might be a problem, management took care of it without delay. And for anyone who enjoys having a pet, you’re good to go at Driftwood. Like most places, there are some breed restrictions, but that is for the safety of the other residents and children. So if you’re looking for all kinds of bells and whistles amenities such as a swimming pools, fitness centers, or community rooms, Driftwood might not be your place. There are plenty of complexes out there that offer those things, but in most cases be prepared to pay several hundred dollars a month more in rent. If you’re looking for simple, clean, and well managed place to live at a reasonable price in a convenient location, Driftwood is your place.Property Manager Responded

Awful place
October 16, 2016Terrible little complex, the rent is low for a reason. Plenty of roaches, mold, dented front doors, and paper thin walls. This place is a hellhole, with a Grinch of an apartment manager. Snarky attitude, with a bad memory - be sure to get a receipt with that rent payment! The front office has no computer, so all records and on paper files. The windows are cheap single pane that allow ice to form on the inside during the winter months. Maintenance team is a joke, and frequently gossip about ...tenants. If they are telling you about the embarrassing things tbey see in your neighbors apartments, chances are they are gossiping about you as well. Bottom line, this place is awful.
