  • Homes poorly maintained and greedy management

    Please stay far away from this place. If I could leave zero stars I would. My significant other lived here YEARS ago. There were several problems - a water leak in the kitchen, a foul smell in the closet that was never resolved, and the bathroom smelled like mold. Due to the several issues, he left. He paid the rest of his month’s rent, and the next month since he was moving out early. This is standard protocol when ending a lease early. For years, Hickory Hills could have reached out to him to ...
    let him know that they also have a termination fee. They had his email, cell and forwarding address. Instead they wait until the termination fee has doubled with interest to notify him more than three years later. Again, please stay away unless you want to live in a poorly maintained community/ home with deceiving management. I can’t help but think they let this go for so long so they could get double the money. Terrible and greedy.

  • Don’t say I didn’t warn you

    I am a current resident, I renewed my lease for another year, because it was cheaper than moving but I can’t wait to move out. The leasing staff are not friendly, in fact rude. The 1 bedrooms are falling apart because they don’t update them, so expect having to put a maintenance request in almost monthly. The gates don’t work so it’s not a gated entry. The pool is only open during the weekend in the summer so good luck enjoying that. The best thing about it is the location but there are tons of ...

  • Do not move into an apartment near maintenance shack

    The apartments have poor soundproofing. The maintenance people leave loud vehicles idling right next to my apartment for extended periods of time, monday thru saturday. The idling vehicles start at 810am and doesn't stop until 510pm. I complained to the management team for several months and it accomplished nothing. In august, I'm going to spend about 4k to move out of this crappy place. The people who live in the other apartment next to maintenance area moved out last week.

    I am going on my third year of living at Hickory Hills East. I first started out in a studio apartment for one year, and then I moved into a 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Town House. The Units, office, and the clubhouse are all well kept and clean. The neighborhood is quiet and the people are friendly. The office staff are professional, engaging, nice, and well informed.   • Not as advertised

    The place advertised a pool but they don’t tell you it’s not open for the public because they did not want to pay for a permit. However it is included in the package. Funny! Their parking spots are one on top of the other. They just throttled the internet which is included to sell you a new faster 100 Mbps internet service for $60 a month. I’m at 4 Mbps this moment. Terrible! The washers and dryers are $1.50 through your credit card, and sometimes it charges you $2.00 per load. They blocked off ...
    the water and drainage in the studios for you to not connect ypur own washer and dryer. $1,600 to get out of lease.

      Good afternoon and thank you for taking the time to post a review. We were not aware of the laundry charges being more then the posted $1.50, or we would have contacted them immediately. Our pool is seasonal, and operates Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day- it was opened 11am-7pm, as scheduled all summer. There is a tech support call center for internet issues-most problems can be corrected quickly over the phone.     This is a good complex, surrounded by woods, Very quiet, considering the air base is about 5 miles away. The staff are helpful and do everything they can to find a solution to any problem you may have. The maintenance staff are extremely prompt; if you put in a work order in the morning you can expect it to be completed that same evening. The surrounding area is covered with shops, restaurants and parks to relax in. The only downsides are that without a car it's very hard to get around and the ...

  • Great Location

    This is a great apartment for the location. Right in the middle of St. Mary's county, close to the base, near restaurants, within walking distance of several things. This is also great for entry level professionals on a budget (PAX river close by!) Lots included in the price of rent. Would recommend staying here; everyone in the office is super nice and accommodating and maintenance is great!

  • stuck in the 70's

    The condo we rent is out dated the kitchen has all old kitchen appliances. The counter tops are all scratched up. The bath room has vynal all yellow stained the tub has wholes in it and they have patched it.
