As a whole, the management at this apartment complex do not seem to care about their tenants, especially related to maintenance issues. Having said that, this particular review relates to apartment 103 in building 1631, which my girlfriend rented from November 2016 to the end of October 2017. Basically, all of the doors in the apartment had issues making them either difficult or impossible to close. Although claims were filed to the office, nothing was done about the doors for several months.
...During the late summer/early fall months of 2017 (about 10-11 months of owning the apartment and placing the claims), maintenance was called for another problem (the a/c not working). Although they didn’t seem to fix the a/c, they finally fixed the bathroom door by removing the floor strip. The bedroom door was also finally fixed around this time. But the biggest problem was the FLOODING. In March of 2017, she returned home to find the majority of her apartment flooded. A lot of her furniture was destroyed by water damage. They offered her a furnished apartment while they “fixed” her apartment (there was a huge crack in the foundation), but told her she could not return to her apartment. Being quoted a week, she packed enough belongings for a week or so, but the repairs were AGAIN not completed in a timely manner. It took 17 days for them to complete the repairs...that’s over two times longer than they stated it would take. Every time my girlfriend called to get an update about the apartment, they would give her the run around or just wouldn’t answer the phone or emails. Finally, she just checked on her apartment on her own. She found there had been absolutely NO work done on her apartment for the first week or so. Finally, they let her back into her apartment. BUT they didn’t actually fix the apartment because it flooding again in October of 2017. What’s almost worse is that, after the first flooding (which occurred right before monthly rent was due), the management took out her rent several days before it was due. The lease stated they would take rent out on the 1st of the month (or on the next business day if the 1st landed on a holiday), but they started taking it out consistently 5-7 days prior to the first of the month. It was like management took her rent early so she could not get out of the lease after the flooding, which is illegal. On top of everything, they also tried raising her rent by about $100. Management is terrible.
