August 26, 2024Love the location at Orenco Station, which is close the the Max Line and to buses, since I don't have a car. I also love the space and layout of my apartment - the bedrooms being on opposite sides for privacy. The storage is great, especially the generous coat closet, an additional hallway closet, each bedroom having a walk-in closet, and the large laundry room! I also love that this is a non-smoking building (no cigs, pot or vapes), since I am allergic. It is also great that Platform 14 is ...part of the BILT Alliance, so I get points when I pay rent, at no additional cost. The staff here has also been super friendly and responsive. A major negative: living on the second floor, I had no idea until I moved in how much I would hear the footfalls of my upstairs neighbor. The ceiling sometimes literally vibrates, and they often walk late into the night. Unsure if they are unusually heavy footed or if this is an issue with building construction, but it affects my overall rating so I am including it in the review. August 1, 2024This 12 year old bldg is not a luxury apt bldg. The appliances are 12 years old, thermostat isn’t digital, bath tub creaks when you stand in it to shower. April 1, 2024I absolutely love the layout of this apartment: 2 bed, 2 bath, 1248 sq ft. It's been a pleasure having this much space and storage. I love that the bedrooms and bathrooms are on separate sides of the apartment, for privacy. That has been great when I have overnight guests. Having ensuite laundry is also a plus. The Orenco Station area is extremely walkable, and very close to transit, eateries, supermarket, etc. - even Chiropractic and Dentist. One unknown defect, if you will, of being on ...the second floor at Platform 14 is that the neighbor directly above me is very heavy footed, and their footfalls are quite loud. They often walk well past midnight. I wish there were some way to better soundproof the footsteps from above. The ceiling sometimes shakes from their movements!
