August 12, 2025the complex is not what it seems. they tout new apartments with in unit washer/dryers. i have been here for seven months - no washer and dryer. LR management refuses to give rent concessions and does not pick up the phone or reply to texts. the building themselves are old and the renovation itself is haphazard. take your money elsewhere - this place isn't worth it.Reseña de Apartments.com
STAY AWAY, SAFTEY HAZARD.
June 18, 20250 stars. I haven’t had a working AC for the past week in the hottest time of the year. They continue to tell me they will be here shortly and they never come so I’ve sat at home for multiple days waiting for them. I haven’t had a functional toilet for the whole year I lived here and they continue to tell me they would come and replace it and never did. I spent hours and hours emailing to get them to fix so many issues in the apartment and they don’t care once they get you in they don’t care about ...you. They don’t care if you’re living in and mold. They don’t care if you’re constantly dealing with human waste coming out of your toilets and tub from other apartments plumbing. the whole building is having problems and nobody is getting it fixed.It’s disgusting. New Management Inattentive
March 2, 2023Recently purchased by Pepper Pike Properties and they replaced their management and maintenance teams. New individuals do not return phone calls, emails, do not follow up on requests (such as obtaining a copy of your new lease) and are impossible to contact. They will file with the court over late rent with no notice even though they had the check in their mailbox for a week. The apartments themselves are nice and used to be worth it for the price. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE
December 31, 2019I leased this apartment for over a year and the landlord - Darlene was super nice when you moved in, was there for you and answered any questions. After a few months of moving in, she turns on you. Does not answer phone calls or emails in a timely matter. Not professional at all. The only perk about this apartment is the maintenance guy, he takes care of everything and is kind. She will try to charge you for everything and leaves notes on your door rather than calling and leaving a voicemail. ...Never after 3 years of renting have I dealt with someone this awful. October 11, 2017I've managed hotel properties for 6 years and I have put up with many difficult personalities; however, none as volatile and difficult as Darlene. I lived at Sunnymede Apartments from 2015-2016, and for 1 year too long. We always paid our rent on time and in full and kept to ourselves. The office staff is just plain rude. They leave accusatory, rude notes posted on your door and posted on the bulletin board in the hallway instead of addressing issues. These rudely stated notes frequented the ...bulletin board threatening tenants about once a week, always signed, "Darlene". My main problem was when the water heater in the apartment above ours broke, and water was gushing through the ceiling a two days before Christmas day. The whole ceiling and walls needed to be fixed and the carpet desperately replaced. Our lease was up in March and they refused to replace anything; I'm sure they intended to just wait to replace for a new tenant. We had to live with a patched up ceiling and HORRIBLE smelling (probably moldy) carpet for 3 months. The apartment was absolutely uninhabitable for a full 7 days, where we were lucky enough to be able to stay with my parents since we had a newborn baby at the time, living there was not an option. We still had to pay the full rent for that month and received zero compensation and zero apology. Then when we were due to move out, they accused us (with a nasty note posted to our door of course) of throwing a couch in the dumpster, which was not allowed. I read said note sitting on my couch in my apartment. When I called to dispute such accusations, I left a vague message with the girl who worked in the office. Darlene called back while I was at work and left a NASTY voicemail screaming outright lies (not professional AT ALL). I will say one good thing: The two maintenance men I interacted with for various problems with the fridge/bathtub problems, being locked out once on thanksgiving, handled the situations VERY well. Renter be aware!
August 9, 2017So you found your perfect location and the place is great. Great until you settle in and realize that you're locked into a lease that doesn't cover the you from loud neighbors, bugs and a manager that only cares about herself. I will give her credit for running a tight ship and not putting up with stupid people, however if you don't walk in lockstep with her ideals, she will make your stay miserable. I know, I lived there way to long...so that being said, she will make up something to make ...sure you don't get your security deposit back. I give Sunnymede one star because of the size of the apartments and location...everything else is up to you. Last thing to notice...watch how many U-hauls show up every month and see how long you recognize your neighbor! They move in and move out faster then you would expect. VERY Rude & Unprofessional
July 15, 2017When I called here 1st time to ask about apartments, lady was very nice telling me that she only had a few available but I could come in during the following week to see a 1 BR unit after it got renovated. When I showed up to see it, she made it sound like she never remembered talking to me & that NO apartments are available or will be until after Sept. 1st. She said "See our note on the door". July 24, 2015I attempted to call 4 times and when they answer the phone they hang up, you can hear them on the other end rustling papers. On the 4th call they answered "what" I said I was interested in leasing. Then, they replied "we're really busy right now" and hung the phone up on me again!
