A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DOES NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE
August 3, 2022 - Reseña de Apartments.comI lived hear 9 months and I left the moment I could. If you are thinking of living here these will be your day to day experiences: 1- Trash everywhere! On hallway, near the trash chute, in mailroom, near the swimming pool. 2- Tenants do not have a voice. I complaint several times about garbage collection with email (You cannot call them and there is no one to talk to in person) and their response after few days was that it was 4th of July and there was nobody to collect the trash!!! Keep in ...mind that I paid 100+$ monthly on garbage collection. 3- Seeing rats in the yard is pretty normal. 4- Not enough locker space for packages.aka losing packages left in hallway! Even USPS mails got stolen!! 5- Open gate pool parties!! People are just coming in, like it is a public pool! 6- Your fab may not work and there is no one to fix it. Specially the gate near Starbucks opens once in 10 times try. 7- Community does not feel safe. I personally was afraid of going to parking lot after 9 PM because one of its doors is almost always open. 5- Hallways are literally disgusting. There is only one cleaning staff for 300+ units. A very fresh experience: Today I have my move out inspection. They entered the unit without notice! Even though I asked them to call me or send me an email before entering the unit. The maintenance told me that every thing is fine and I should receive a report by email. So far no email and they did not respond my calls and emails!! Essex Es-SUCKS. Property is poorly managed, not worth the cost
December 15, 2020 - Reseña de Apartments.comWARNING: RANT AHEAD!! Or, TL,DR: Essex does/knows nothing, property looks like crap, and theft is a big problem. You don't get your money's worth here, not by a mile. Look elsewhere, unless you just don't care about wasting money. **** I moved here 2 years ago, when Alliance was the former mgmt company. They did a great job of maintaining the property, and their staff was knowledgable and friendly. Their level of service was even more impressive when compared with my previous apartment, ..."managed" by Essex. That place was trashed, the staff was rude and constantly changing, and the maintenance was a joke. Alas, my delight with this property turned to despair when Essex bought this property six months after moving here. And the effect was immediate. There was no trash pickup for nearly 6 weeks. HORDES OF RATS INVADED THE HALLWAYS AND SIDEWALKS! The property has never recovered. Stains are found on every hallway carpet, hallway lights are unchanged, etc. OHH, speaking of bird poop: Thanks to the huge murder(the term for a flock of crows) living in the area, there are literal mounds of bird droppings which turn even a quick walk around the pool or courtyard into an obstacle course to protect your shoes and pet paws. It smells awful when it's dry, and even worse if it gets wet. The most aggravating aspect of their mismanagement is the theft issue: packages, bikes, and car break-ins. They've spent lots of time and money on installing gate barriers and cameras at the entries and lobbies, yet the garage gate gets broken and left open for days. When someone's car or bike is stolen/vandalized, the office's response to using the video footage in the investigation goes NOWHERE. They've lazily posted several subtle and overt notices for mail carriers to deliver packages to the lockers or the residents' doors. It's a bad joke, as they don't have time to do that, so packages are stolen, or opened and abandoned in the lobby or outside. The rotating cast in the office creates an exercise in frustration. Trying to even *reach* one of them by phone is a hassle; speaking with one of them is even worse. Ask 3 different staff members the same question, and you'll get 3 different (and WRONG) answers. How can someone get anything resolved in an environment like this? But hey, they just re-surfaced the pool (which we can't use because of COVID), so that's something, right? Worst management staff I have ever met
August 20, 2020 - Reseña de Apartments.comAlthough I like the apartments (in spite of the perpetual trains, which are very loud), the management is very inconsiderate and straight out rude. This has been the case since the property was bought by Essex and I would never suggest anyone to live in this apartment.
A Life Truly with Sacrifice
August 10, 2020 - Reseña de Apartments.comThis apartment complex is at an all time low, at the moment. It's hard to know where to begin, health and safety seem the most obvious. There are maggots in the dumpsters, rats in the courtyard, security patrols are entirely absence since Coronavirus began. There are homeless living in the halls, lights out in the stairwells and hallways. This creates a very scary environment in which to live, from taking our dog down in the evenings to coming home from a dinner; having to constantly watch your ...back, in your own apartment building is not a "life without sacrifice" as their website would tell you. Amenities which were shutdown as a part of lock down have now been completely eliminated an example of this being the hot tub, which was filled with cement and effectively eliminated. Additionally, while management closed down certain amenities they did not close down all, resulting in several of the external courtyard barbecues being used to host an event by residents, who in-turn inadvertently spread Coronavirus to numerous residents. One would think the management team would do something about this, but they do not. They claim they have installed new cameras, while I cannot substantiate the truth of this, I'm not sure the usefulness of having these cameras unless someone actively monitors the cameras. I have spoken with my neighbors and know that management has been called over a dozen times, and I know they receive police reports when the police are called to move the homeless out of our hallways. I also know that the management of the property management team does not share this information with members of their own team, as on countless occasions I have spoken to them and they claim to have no idea about these things occurring.Leer Más
Great Place to Live!
December 27, 2018 - Reseña de Apartments.comI have lived at the Courtyards fpr four years now and I am going on my fifth. I live on the side facing the train and I will say that my wife and I have really enjoyed the amenities, staff and nieghbors at this property. At first the train was really loud but we gpt accustomed to it and now its just apart of our background noise. For me, the train give this place a real city feel and tends to help wake you up in the morning times. Now we will be moving to the poolside away from the train but we ...think we will miss the train......cant say the same for our little Yorkie though. I like the courtyards and I could not find another property in the area thats worth the price jump so we will make the courtyards our home for at least another year. I will say be careful where you park on the trainside of the buidling . do not park near the dumpster areas because homeless people break in to cars I think but nothing unexpected for urban living and the area is extremely safe to walk in. Lastly, this is one of the only properties in The area with a pool that is heated and well maintained...good for exercise.Leer Más
Management is nonexistent- Deposit never returned
May 23, 2018 - Reseña de Apartments.comThe trains are insanely loud and come by every 10-20 minutes. The new staff of 2018 are incompetent and pocket your deposit instead of returning it to you at the end of your lease. I’ve called frequently for the last 2 months about my deposit, which is supposed to be returned to you (minus some cleaning fees) and I was told that there was nothing they could do about it and the property managers have since refused to take my calls. Since I moved out of state and I am unable to establish a presence ...in the office I’ve been getting the run around from secondary staff members. I seriously feel conned by this property and the corporation as they feel that their very own legal contract isn’t legally binding on their end. Their attitude is very disconcerting so if that doesn’t scare the crap out of you idk what will. I’m advising you now that your deposit may be forfeited and pocketed by someone internally. I’m only assuming this scenario since no one has given me any other plausible explanation. This entire situation could be easily fixed but property management has been uncooperative and they lack the professionalism and customer service I would expect from a company such as Alliance.Leer Más

July 26, 2015 - Reseña de Apartments.comWe had little time and fixed budget when we entered Emeryville, we were lied to and misdirected into our present abode. The staff was friendly, and attractive but they told us outright fabrications. The trains stop running between 10 an 11 PM, there was no central air, and there are many nice amenities, noise and little respect for the community around is more the rule than the exception. The best part of living at the Courtyard at 65th is the wonderful maintainence staff. The office staff is ...pleasant, and obviously not the original staff, but that is also a problem. There has been great turnover. I am happily downloading the Apartments.com app to find a new location, because life at th Courtyard has more downs than ups.Leer Más
