The apartments are clean and spacious
April 5, 2026Great place to live while finishing my degree at ETSU. The apartments are clean and spacious, and I love being close to campus but also near all the shops and restaurants on the north side of town. Management has been really easy to work with and they actually respond to emails which is more than I can say for my last landlord. The rent is fair for what you get and utilities haven't been crazy high either. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking in the Johnson City area!Property Manager Responded

The staff in the office are friendly and professional
March 30, 2026Been here 6 months and very happy with our choice. The staff in the office are friendly and professional, always willing to help out when we have questions. Close proximity to ETSU was the main draw for us but we also love being near all the hiking trails and outdoor stuff that Johnson City has to offer. The apartment itself is modern and clean with good appliances. Only downside is there's no dog park on property which would be nice since we have a pup, but the nearby greenways work great for ...walks.Property Manager Responded

January 9, 2026The Emerson Apartments check all the boxes. Clean, well-maintained, and managed the way communities used to be run, with professionalism, responsiveness, and pride in the property. From the moment you step on site, it’s clear the team cares. Maintenance requests are handled promptly, common areas stay spotless, and the community feels safe, quiet, and welcoming. The apartments themselves are thoughtfully designed with great layouts, quality finishes, and plenty of natural light. No gimmicks, ...just solid living done right. Located in Johnson City, the location is another win. Convenient without feeling chaotic. You are close to everything you need, but far enough away to actually relax when you get home. That balance is harder to find than people think. If you want a place that’s well-run, comfortable, and doesn’t come with constant headaches, The Emerson is it. Old reviews no longer apply
April 24, 2024The few bad reviews are old reviews that don’t apply now. The apartments have new owners and a great manager and maintenance team. We needed window screens, they ordered them. We needed a new peephole, they ordered one. They are redoing the apartments, and ours is new, clean and roomy. There is no assigned parking space, but we always find a spot in front of our building. There is a roach problem, but every month a professional comes spray and lay out bait. It doesn’t kill them all (yet anyway), ...but it sure helps. Some people don’t pick up their dog’s poo, but they put in doggie stations, so hopefully that will help. No problems with noise or crime.Property Manager Responded

Terrible Management
April 17, 2018Not only will management straight up lie to you and give you backdated notices for payments that shouldn’t exist, they are apparently so terrible at their job they are fired at least once a year. Also, they take forever for any maintenance issue, never spray for bugs, always let their mowers throw grass all over your vehicle, tow cars in a biased fashion showing favoritism...the list goes on.Reseña de Apartments.com

July 22, 2015This place is not student friendly. Rent is more than a house payment and they don't tell you the whole truth when you go on the tour. They tell you that you will hardly ever go over in electricity, but the truth is that you will pay every month for electricity. It takes them forever to respond to things that you ask them about. There is a sublease but if you do that you have to handle things yourself, such as finding someone and paying a certain amount.
