Nice complex terrible communication.
March 15, 2026I lived at The Highlands for almost two years and overall had a good experience. The area is nice and the community is generally quiet. Like anywhere, there were a few random incidents, but we mostly felt safe. Maintenance was responsive the few times I needed them, usually coming out within 1-2 days. The grounds are well kept, and it was a comfortable place to live. The main downside was the leasing office and communication. I had to break my lease due to personal life changes, and the process ...was very difficult due to inconsistent information. High staff turnover meant almost every employee I spoke with gave different details about timelines and costs. It was also hard to get anyone on the phone, often taking 6-7 calls. Even when I did reach someone, they often didn’t have the information I needed and said someone would call me back, but that follow-up usually never happened. There were additional charges you can’t opt out of, like valet trash on top of regular trash, and fees like carpet replacement at move-out. Even after leaving, we were still learning details about final payments and security deposit handling. If you’re breaking a lease, confirm numbers multiple times with multiple people to avoid surprises. Overall, if you don’t need much from the leasing office, The Highlands is a nice and generally quiet place to live, but management communication could definitely improve.Property Manager Responded

The services they contract with are a bit scammy and management has a hands off approach with the companies they let into the community to perform services. The only complaint we have is, after we put in our maintenance request, no one informed us that we had to go to the office to fill out a form in order for the request to be scheduled. November 29, 2024It’s a quite place for sure. That I enjoy. However, whenever I need something done it’s like the leasing office acts like they care. My washer hasn’t been washing my clothes for months now. I’ve put in a request but since it’s a new washer they won’t do anything to help me. They say not to overload It which I don’t. I have to wash my clothes 2-3 times since the washer doesn’t work. On top of the washer not working I have a loud neighbor who doesn’t care. I was asked by leasing to tell them when ...it’s loud and what not so I do and they continuously do nothing. They had problems with my upstairs neighbors and now they act like rid the first they hear. It’s annoying and frustrating. It already is expensive to live here and they don’t want to help out.Property Manager Responded

November 25, 2024I had to revise my review because everything was ok when we moved in our first day. But as we would soon find out, our new apartment is infested with small roaches. And nobody wants that. My leasing consultant Jocelyn said the building recently had a pest control visit but I think that was a lie. As I went through my daily unpacking, I put in a load of laundry and realized how quickly things would change for the worst. I washed my load and then threw it in the dryer. I went back to check on it ...after the 60 minute cycle. It was still damp. I found that awkward. I put in for 60 more minutes, reassuring myself it was going to be done. Went back to check, and it was still damp. I took a better look inside and realized someone had removed the bars that are in the dryer that make the clothes go in a circle. I reported all this on my walk around inspection sheet. It's been almost two weeks, and no info on a new or replacement stackable dryer/washer combo. In addition, my door doesn't lock and when we moved in, they failed to put in Light Bulbs in our dining area. This is completely unacceptable and as you can already figure, no one answers the phone when we call. I'm very disappointed. To top it off, the laundry room on site is closed until further notice.
