don’t fall for it
March 14, 2022year later I am going from a 3 star to a 1 star for university edge and their management team. This is my FOURTH year at Uedge. I have given this apartment complex over $2000 of my money to “Live Different.” If living different means 0 contact between residents and front office staff, then sure give them all your money. Had an issue with a roommate before spring break, resulting in a roommate swap. None of this was forwarded to me or my other roommates by Uedge staff. Over spring break we get an ...email saying someone we have never met before is moving into our apartment with her dog. Which wouldn’t be an issue if I didn’t have 2 cats that UEDGE knows about. Why move a dog in with cats? Anyways, Emailed Management and called 4 times before finally getting through to a front staff member, just for him to tell me all of management was busy and they conveniently will be until they close. Oh and they don’t work on weekends so they will get to me Monday. (This was Friday, the new roommate was moving in Tuesday.) there was 0 communication about what was going on. Had I known a stranger was moving in, I would have made appropriate arrangements for my animals and would have locked my bedroom door. I am now flying home early to deal with this fiasco and can’t even get an explanation as to what Is happening in my own home while I am gone. My safe place. Uedge: you will never get my recommendation to anyone moving to the area. Do better. Be better. And care about your residents like you pose that you do. PSA to all the students and parents reading these reviews: they give out t shirts and prizes to people who give them high ratings on here. It’s not genuine. I promise. Don’t fall for it. More than half these people move out after one lease because of the insane charges to their rent and how expensive it becomes. Lovely facility
April 19, 2021My daughter currently lives a University Edge and I have to say that it is a very beautiful facility. I came to visit her for the weekend and was really impressed with how clean and kept up the whole property is. She has decorated her apartment so cute and it feels just like home. She said that she has really enjoyed her time here at University Edge and plans on staying for as long as she can.Property Manager Responded

Close to campus
March 17, 2021I am a freshman now at ETSU and for my fall semester I decided to commute to and from campus. The majority of my classes were online but I had one class that met every Tuesday and Thursday. It was tough having to drive an hour+ to and from campus especially for one class. My spring semester worked out to were I had one class on campus again, so I decided to look into living closer to campus. The reason I chose University Edge was because of how close they are to campus and how well their property ...is kept. I feel very safe and clean here and don’t have to worry about someone bothering me. The staff here is very nice and moved me in very quickly since the spring semester started in the middle of January. I could not have asked for a better apartment and roommate. March 15, 2021The location of University Edge is so great. I am super close to campus and the downtown area! The staff has been so great to answer my questions and help with my process of signing a lease to moving in! I couldn't be happier here. Buyer beware
January 22, 2021My daughter rented for a year- four months she wasn’t there due to Covid. The managers advertise “working with” you but when we had to move her out in the pandemic, through no fault of our own, they wouldn’t work with us. They were not flexible with helping us with the lease even after I talked with them at length regarding it. Then we were charged over $400 after we left- and taken to collections immediately- for a scratched sofa. This sofa was already scratched, and we had written an ...email regarding it when my daughter moved in. We also cleaned the apartment twice, tried to pay for that but was told they wouldn’t accept the check unless we paid for the sofa too. It is of note the sofa was replaced during that time frame by the management. We sent photos of the apartment and asked to see their proof of damages but none were made available. I have been a professional and owner and rented apartments myself in the past abd never treated anyone like we were treated. Of note,, the collection agency they use is also subpar. I asked to go to small claims court abs just have a judge evaluate this situation and the apartment complex wouldn’t work with us there either. This was a real learning experience for my daughter. I would definitely think twice before choosing this company and apartment for my children at college. There are so many better options in Johnson City.Property Manager Responded

We understand that the Pandemic did cause stress on some of our residents and our families and our team was able to work with them on payment plans, waiving late fees, and trying to find someone to take over their lease. At move out, if there are charges photos are provided and residents are given a period to ask questions about the charges. If we do receive questions or Management does review the photos of the unit at Move Out compared to the Move In Condition Report. Again, we are disappointed to hear that you have experienced frustrations. Thank you for being a resident with us.

So close to campus!
January 19, 2021My friends and I have lived here for a few years now. Some of us play sports and love to be able to live off campus but be so close. We have all we need here even being so far away from home! I didn’t want to have to bring furniture from 4 hours away so the apartments being furnished was a big plus for me!Property Manager Responded

Lifelong friendships
January 19, 2021I have been living here for almost 2 years now and I absolutely love it! I lived on campus my freshman year of college and when I transferred to University Edge it was such a game changer. I didn’t know a lot of people that were living here at the time so I opted into their roommate matching system. I was matched with such sweet girls who are now my lifelong besties! We are all going on our 2 years of living together and I couldn’t ask for better people to live with. The staff in the office are ...always so sweet.
