I lived at Waterstone for a few months between selling my home and getting married, so take this review as someone who just needed a place to sleep at night more than someone who made a home there. I really liked the unit itself. It had nice construction & quality materials. I was on a lower level where the back of my unit was underground and did not have an adjoining apartment. I only had units above and to my right, so the place was very quiet. Parking was fine and I could always find a space
...adjacent to the building. The unit comes with washer/dryer which is nice if you don't have those, but I they are low-end models and I would have rather have had my units. I can't speak to amenities because I simply did not use them. If I were reviewing this based solely on the actual apartment, I would give a four or five star rating. Unfortunately, the community could be better managed.
First, the complex does not have anywhere close to enough garbage capacity.It was routine for trash bags, furniture, boxes, etc. to be piled up around the compacter. This happened, to a small degree, during the week. However, by Saturday and Sunday nights the mound of trash looked like a garbage dump. This was virtually every week, not just peak times like right after Christmas. It would be one thing if the compactor was located in the back of the complex, out of view. Unfortunately, it is located near the main entrance and the gargantuan pile of trash bags was there for all to see. They need a second compactor in the worst way to hide this unsightly mess.
Also, management is slow to respond to maintenance requests. My requests were not specific to my unit but rather primarily about burned out light bulbs in breezeways. I would put in a request and weeks later, they would finally change the bulbs. At one point, both bulbs in my dead-end breezeway were out, leaving my door in deep darkness at night.
Finally, this is more of a nit pick for me. They rebill Forsyth Co. water, but the company they contract to do this tacks on a fee that regularly was approximately as much as my monthly water and sewer bill. It was only a few dollars, but it was ridiculous that I had to pay effectively a 100% service for this "convenience." Just let me pay for my water directly as they do with electricity and internet.
Overall, Waterstone is a nice community if you are looking for an apartment home, but be advised the management, while friendly when you deal with them, leave a lot to be desired.
