Easiest 5-star review I can give. The staff is the best, the maintenance team is always communicative, the property is fantastic (and safe), and apartments are spacious. I’ve stayed at 3 different apartment complexes so far, and this one blows the others out of the water.

Great, “in-the-cut” community. Perfect location. Love the amentities! Maintenance responds in a timely manner to resolve any and every issue or concern. The cleanliness and landscape of the community is my favorite part. Nice lil dog park. Love that they have food trucks from the community stop by. Really overall everything has been great. However, taking away a star for the train that’s in the backyard of the complex and unfortunately we are in a unit that it is directly next to. I personally ...
feel like a discount should be rewarded for that alone. Originally it was expressed by staff that a train was near by but not that pretty much runs all day and night. I often lose sleep or get awaken in the wee hours of the morning because it’s so loud, sometimes even shakes our windows.

Not a great experience

I lived at 1824 Defoor for four years and wanted to love it. The maintenance team is the best part of the community. They work hard, care about residents, and take pride in what they do. I wish the same could be said about management. Real concerns were ignored or met with defensive replies. It always felt like they cared more about optics than the people who live here. The train noise is constant, often before sunrise. Its comically loud and always woke me up. Floors between units are thin, so ...
unless you are on the top floor you hear every step above you. Sleep was difficult the entire time I lived here. The dog park is poorly maintained. Craters formed in the ground, waste was left everywhere, and there were gaps under the fence where my small dog once got stuck. It never felt like there was a plan to keep it clean or safe. What disappointed me most was the lack of care or follow through from the office. Communication was inconsistent and concerns led nowhere. Tour carefully and ask direct questions before signing a lease.

We've had a really positive experience living here for the last 3 ish years! We like the neighborhood, pricing, and familiarity of the staff. The property is very well maintained and the leasing office does a great job communicating when construction or maintenance projects are in progress. Like any apartment community, there are trade offs that come with being a renter. The gym can get a little crowded and neighbor noise can be challenging.
