Think twice upon moving into Jackson Park
April 19, 2018Think twice before moving into Jackson Park. The management sold its potential tenants on the amenities building that includes a gym, basketball court, indoor pool, and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is the main picture on their website and is their number one selling point. They even incentivized their offer to potential tenants by throwing in a free membership to the facility for an entire year. Just last week tenants were informed that the rooftop pool is not included in the amenities and ...will incur a monthly fee for use after using it as a selling point when trying to lure in new tenants. They also informed tenants that if they bring a guest to the pool it is $50/day/guest. If you have a friend, boyfriend, or parent and you want to shoot some hoops at the basketball court it costs $25/person/day. If your parents come by and want to sit by the pool for a half hour it will cost you or them $100. The management sold us on free amenities for an entire year. When we asked the brokers about bringing guests to the facility they said guests would be more than welcome and never once mentioned a fee. Never mind that it would cost similar to a fee at a country club. I highly recommend anyone moving into Jackson Park to make sure that any verbal promises made by the brokers get written into the lease. Otherwise I recommend checking out other luxury buildings in the area that do not deceive and lie to their potential tenants. There are four other luxury buildings in the area that offer free amenities and allow you to enjoy them with guests free of charge or a significantly lower price.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
