September 29, 2025Almost everything else here has been a letdown. The air conditioning can’t handle summer heat, which makes the apartment nearly unbearable. We moved in hoping this would be fixed, but it’s been over a year now and still no resolution. The parking garage is a total design failure. If you have groceries or kids with strollers, prepare to carry everything up stairs — there’s no ramp or elevator from the garage to your floor. Maintenance requests are handled by an automated system, and management ...doesn’t reply to emails. Also, be warned: noise is a real issue here. We hear large dogs barking and running upstairs even after midnight. It’s frustrating because the property could be nice, but it’s poorly run and clearly neglected. They just want to lock you into the lease and if you decide to move out earlier, you will have to pay 2 month rent as penalty.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

August 24, 2025DO NOT rent here! This place is a JOKE! From the management to the office staff. They are very kind when becoming a new renter but once you sign that lease, you are SCREWED!!! My daughter moved in maybe 6 months ago and has nothing but problems, sewage backing up in the kitchen sink, leaky utility closet, roaches and NO resolve! This started within a month of moving in. I don’t know how they hid the roaches but it’s BAD! FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR SANITY, STAY FAR AWAY!Review from Apartments.com
Renovated units but full of problems that property just won't fix
July 2, 2023Been renting a unit here less than a year and every second week I am down at the office trying to get some issues resolved. all major ones. over time I've had issues with no heating, no cooling, no hot water and each time it takes weeks to get it fixed until issue re emerges. WARNING - DO NOT MOVE HERE
May 9, 2023Management here does not care about the residents, they only care about your money (trust me). The building is falling apart at the seams. Everything is broken - the elevators, the washers/dryers, the ceilings, everything. The place is dirty and disgusting. The photos they show you online are absolutely not what this place or the units look like. There was an attempted break-in to my car in the "secure" parking garage & they ripped my car door handle off. Management didn't care after I told them ...I no longer felt safe parking there. One of the maintenance guys here, all of his tires and rims were stolen off the top of the parking garage and his car was left on bricks. They only have the AC on from June 1st through September 15th. Temperatures in apartments reach above 80 degrees, and you have no control over it. We had to purchase a cooling unit for $200 to get some relief for ourselves and our 2 dogs. Your entire floor will either reek of marijuana or cigarettes, even though this is a "non-smoking" building. Management does nothing to address issues. I've gone to them time and time again for help, and nothing. They DO NOT care about you and your loved ones, and they will not care... ever. Communication with the property is incredibly poor. Our very first day, while we're moving in, the assistant property manager came to our door demanding $600. I had reached out to her via phone and email countless times to pay the $600 deposit. She never responded to a single message. So when we moved in, we assumed the $600 was included in the prorated amount we paid which was well over 1k. I had to call over and over again to even get a final number on our rent. They didn't respond to me until less than 24 hours before our move in day for what our final rent would be and what time we could move in. That was day 1. Imagine that being your introduction and you can picture what the rest of living here would look like. This place is absolute garbage. We still have work orders in from Dec. 2022 that are not completed. They don't respond to work orders promptly. We keep our place clean and tidy, and I found German cockroaches in our apartment and in the hallways. They had a HUGE water line break in December and the entire first floor was flooded and there was water rising up the stairs. It was like the Titanic. Best place I've ever lived!
January 7, 2021I LOVE 21 Kristin, its well kept, friendly association, pool, awesome gym and the view from my balcony is awesome. They take security seriously and all doors are locked and require a fob to get in. Most of the units have been remodeled and have open floor plans. Great building with some flaws
October 1, 2015I love the XXI building in Schaumburg, IL. The upgraded units are beautiful and the non-upgraded are just your average apartment but more spacious than most i've seen. The only issues I have are some plumbing problems once in awhile, and the management chooses when the A/C and heat can be used. Other than that I love living here.Review from Apartments.com
