Overcharged for Move-out Damages
August 22, 2024I had a disappointing experience with the move-out process at Winding Brook Apartments. Despite following all instructions during the move-out inspection, including filling nail holes as directed, we were still charged for various damages that seemed unreasonable.After deducting the damage deposit, we owe $2300 for damages and cleaning. We were billed for glazing the bathtub, vanities, and countertops, even though we left them in good condition and were not informed that this would be an issue ...during the inspection. Additionally, we were charged for painting after living in the apartment for four years, despite the fact that normal wear and tear should be expected and covered by the complex. We also were charged for new carpet despite the carpet not being new when we moved in. I understand that some costs are necessary, but these charges seemed excessive and felt more like an attempt to take advantage of tenants upon move-out. I would recommend future tenants be cautious and document everything thoroughly during their move-out inspection.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Worst apartment community in Kokomo
August 23, 2019Worst apartment community!!! First of all they have very bad maintenance service. Property management changes very often. In my case, i took over the lease from my friend in 2017 and stay there for 2 years and when i vacated in mid-2019, they put move out charges of more than $400 for painting living room & bedroom along with wear and tear fixes they did in bathroom. They were all small pin holes which were put to hang calendar, posters and hooks to hang cloths on the wall.I put putty in all the ...gaps before i vacated and they charged whooping $260 for all painting. Many issues were reported to them when i moved in to the apartment and they charged me to fix them all when i vacated saying those things were not recorded in their system. It is their property managers who changes every couple of months and i literally cannot check if they recorded these issues in their system. Completely unprofessional guys and i do not recommend anyone to stay here. April 5, 2017My experience here so far has been excellent. A couple of hiccups with moving in, but the staff were very helpful and answered any and all of my questions and requests in a timely manner.
