Spacious, Light-Filled, a Little Noisy and a Little Gross

As far as NYC one-bedrooms go, this one is excellent. There's one large bedroom and one combined kitchen/living room. For one person, it's ideal. The hardwood floors are lovely and each room has huge windows which lets in ample sunshine. The location is also great in that the 7 train is two blocks away and when the 7 train isn't down for construction, it's typically great.

the lobby and stairwell. Some also smoke cigarettes right outside my window, which literally fills my apartment with nasty cigarette odor.
There are other cons, too, primarily that this apartment faces 42nd Street, which is surprisingly loud and also close enough to get Queens Blvd and 7 train noise. Even with the windows closed, I sleep with earplugs and a white noise machine on. Also, there's no laundry in the building and the only decent laundromat (IMHO) is located across Queens Blvd and 5 blocks down, which makes laundry into a half-day chore.
Otherwise, it's an A-OK place to call home.
