I was born and raised in Electchester, as were my parents. On both sides, my grandparents were original tenants of the complex. Electchester is a relic of a bygone era in the best way possible. It's a place where, if you live there, dad can go to work and mom can stay home to take care of the kids--and you can still afford a three bedroom apartment in New York City. long enough, you'll get to know neighbors who have been there for decades. Conveniently located next to expressways and service roads, travel is easy if you've got a car. If you don't, there are buses to trains, and express buses directly to the city. As a Mitchell Lama housing complex, Electchester is one of the last of a dying breed (along with Big Six Houses in Woodside and some other Mitchell Lama complexes dotted across the city). I am thankful it still exists, and you should be, too. They don't make 'em like they used to.
