PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE! Honestly over priced for these apartments, found something way bigger than what my apartment was here, WAY nicer and a better price! Maintenance takes forever to get to your order (even before COVID). They always send so many emails about hours changing because they're always switching management. Staff was always supper polite but was super difficult to reach a manger which were the only ones with actual information to solve anything here. The worst part is that when we ...

moved out they refunded us $60 out of $1000 "refundable deposit"! My roommate and I were always working so kept the apartment clean and even rented a carpet cleaner to deep clean the carpet (did not really need to but we have always done it before moving out of any apartment). When the bill after moving out came the carpet replacement was $600! I have NEVER lived at any apartments that charge this much for a carpet replacement even though we left the carpet like new. When I contacted management all they told me was "the carpet company that replaces them give us these prices and cannot change it". We have always received our deposit back for any apartments we have lived at because of how clean we leave it, but these apartments were just using excuses stay with our $1000 deposit. DO NOT RECOMMEND MOVING HERE!

Delinquency and bad administration in the property

We have 2 years living in Agave at South Congress condo and unfortunately the situation is worse every time. There have been robbery of objects in cars parked inside the condominium in the last 6 months. One month ago there was a robbery of the computers from the Office Community Center. Yesterday, the 24-hour access bike storage room was broken into and a few bikes were taken (two mines). They are not responsible for anything, they just offered us a sincere apology. We have reported for ...

several weeks ago that the exterior light of the breeze-way/corridor in front of our department does not work and nobody has been able to solve it until today. The pedestrian entrance doors to the condominium are broken both of them and anyone has access to the residential complex. Administration has changed staff/crew frequently lately without any improvement. Although you pay administrative fees and for the amenities maintenance that are not reflected in the maintenance of the complex. The situation is pretty unfortunate, they offer you as resident a $ 1000 bonus by any reference that decides to move in to Agave. But if you already lived here in the community and you have some problem like what happened with the robbery of our two bicycles, they are not responsible for anything. Lamentably, the only thing they are interested is to do business with people who decide to move into the community, but they do not give you a good customer service as a tenant. We are seriously considering to move out to another place. Please consider this comment if you are thinking about to move to Agave at South Congress.

This place is a joke. The office staff is ridiculous. They'll answer the phone, you'll give them a problem, they'll promise to call you back, and you'll never hear from them again. Same goes for emails. You could email them all day and wait years for a response. If you park your car in a striped zone for 1 hour, theyll have your car towed, but they'll let a motorcycle park in a striped zone indefinitely without no consequence. Ridiculous management, don't recommend this place.

COLLEGE STUDENTS BEWARE

After I moved out I got a bill of OVER $1200 for "move out expenses." In addition my deposit was not returned. The move out expenses included "paint" "housekeeping" and "carpeting" which are ALL normal maintenance issues and should be done by the apartment between every tenant. It is literally illegal in Texas to charge people for these things. Not to mention I kept my apartment pristine and have the photos to prove. I have been consistently threatened by Agave saying that they will report me to ...

credit bureaus. I'm just a college student and they are trying to take advantage of me. The staff is rude and incompetent.

Platinum Southside

Platinum Southside has nice and extremely responsive staff. Our air conditioning failed, and they fixed it within hours. The ground are kept up pretty well and the swimming pool is great. The apartments themselves are generally nice. The closets they have are big, and the kitchens are very big for an apartment. However, the don't have any kind of coat or hall closet in our two bedroom apartment. There's no place to put a trashcan. Additionally, the appliance are of extremely poor quality. ...

The burners on the stove only come on half the time, but maintenance can't fix them because they work fine when they come. The stove is also poorly insulated, so when the oven is on it can be difficult to tell when the burners come on because the top of the stove is so hot. The refrigerator freezes everything in the back, but if you turn the thermostat up so the stuff in the back won't freeze the stuff in the front spoils. And the provided clothes washer destroys clothing, while the dryer takes hours to dry a load.

This was the first apartment I've ever looked at where the pictures online is almost exactly what you get upon your move in. from Gables to Alliance, I personally haven't any major issues with anyone. Occasionally, I'll hear "loud" noise, but I chalk that up to me being on the first floor. It's never loud enough to the point I feel the need to complain. Which is a GREAT step up from my last apartment complex. The apartment layouts are very spacious! I love the open concept because it makes the space seem even that much bigger. All the stainless steel & energy efficient appliances are a big plus too. Compared to places in Austin similar to Platinum, I'd say rent wise it's pretty decent. I don't have a problem per se with the $1.95 to pay rent online or even now with valet trash not being included as it was before with the rent price. But I guess I can see why others would be "upset." Personally, I plan for these type of things in my budget so it's not that big of a deal. I'm sure everyone would LOVE to live in a rent free world lol, but unfortunately it's not a reality so it's either pay or you move elsewhere! It's also in a very convenient location. It's across from a grocery store, a few fast food places, movie theater and other really good restaurants. It's also in a pretty convenient location from the bus stop ( it's about an 8-10 min. walk from the 801 and the 1 routes), where it takes you to SoCo, Downtown, UT Campus or up to North Austin. I'm looking forward to continuing my stay here and seeing how year 2 unfolds.
