Unresolved leakage in my apartment
July 6, 2024Frustrated with my experience at Alden Place at South Square. My unit had a severe leak that caused significant water damage. Despite reporting the issue immediately, it took management time to respond, days to take the problem seriously, and more than a week to begin addressing the problem. The issue is still not resolved after two weeks of registering the complaint. The leak not only damaged my personal belongings but is also a hazard due to mold growth and puddles of water in the carpet. The ...lack of urgency and professionalism from the management team was and is still unacceptable. Management’s incompetence shouldn’t be a surprise though because 6 months ago water was coming in from outside along the baseboard. It took them multiple times, spanning weeks, to finally resolve the issue. Living in these conditions is not pleasant and unhealthy. I would sincerely not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Wellbeing is not prioritized here and response to concerns are filled with many “sorry”s and limited to no action.Property Manager Responded
July 15, 2024Thank you for your feedback. As explained, leaks/water intrusion is a process that involves finding the source, making repairs, drying out and making any cosmetic repairs if need be. We have tended to your concern since you notified us. We've had our service team inspect, licensed plumber & hvac con tractor all make adjustments to reduce condensation and have found no leak. The drying out process has been interrupted due to occupants turning off equipment so we've had the small area affected professionally extracted. We have communicated daily and apologize if you feel we fell short of your expectations. We take great pride in keeping our homes in good condition and providing a positive living experience for our residents.

March 6, 2020Amazing experience with Sandy, I was told to ask for her upon arrival, I lucked out and she greeted me right away. She mad the lease process pain free and actually fun she is such a genuine sweet heart. Property Pool is beautiful and the business center is awesome when I have to work after hours, gym is a bit small but it has all the basics. ALDEN PLACE IS PERFECT

New resident, so far so good
May 8, 2018I just moved in and have had a great experience so far. The fact that garages are available has been key. I've been able to use the garage to move in my stuff to the apartment at my own pace. The leasing office staff got my paperwork completed quickly and were very friendly. I think my favorite part of the neighborhood is the grill and pool area. I've made all of my meals at the grill so far and it hasn't been busy at the grill, which is a great perk.Property Manager Responded

Quiet and Safe
May 8, 2018I've been living at these apartments for almost 2 years and aside from road noise this complex is very quiet. Most of the residents are either in grad school or are families, so you don't get the loud college parties and obnoxious neighbors you would get at most of the nearby complexes. As far as crime goes, the only thing this complex has experienced since I've been here has been a few break ins on the first floor apartments due to the residents not locking their sliding glass doors. That's not ...a fault of the complex, just a simple problem with the residents not locking their doors and expecting criminals not to exist. DO NOT RECOMMEND
April 22, 2016When we first moved in we absolutely loved the apartment staff. When you walked in the staff was very personable and knew our names at what apartment we lived in. The original staff from when we first moved in, not longer work at this location except LaShawn. Recently this location lost one of the best leasing agents. She was the only reason my roommate and I moved in to this apartment complex and now that Lourdes is gone the only person I can recommend at this location is LaShawn. The new ...manager is very unprofessional, very unapproachable, very insincere, and very fake. We had an issue in our apartment and called the maintenance line and first had our call ignored, then called a second time and the maintenance man on call hung up on us. Due to all of the recent changes and issues, my roommate and I are looking at a new apartment and will NOT be renewing our lease at this location. I love my new apartment!
July 22, 2015Alden Place apartments is simply a really great place to live. I was greeted by friendly neighbors from the moment I moved in. The office staff are always friendly and polite and usually greet me by name. The gym is clean and has the necessary basic exercise equipment (bikes, treadmills, a few machines, free weights). The pool is well maintained and the residents seem to respect the property (nobody leaves litter around or pet droppings laying about). I am very happy as a resident here. It's ...centered between downtown Durham and Chapel Hill which is convenient for most people that work/school at Duke or UNC. I-40 is about a mile away as well.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great perks at a great price!
July 20, 2015Alden Place apartments is simply a great place to live. From the moment I moved in I was greeted by friendly neighbors. The staff in the office are always polite and regularly greet me by name. The gym is clean, the pool is well maintained and the residents seem to resurrect the property (nobody leaves litter around or pet droppings laying about). I am very happy as a resident here. It's quite close to downtown Durham and Chapel Hill is probably almost as close.Review from Apartments.com
