Good deal but plan to be in old outdated units

I never got to move into this apartment which is unfortunate as I was excited to move in. The location is great with the dog park close, good price, and the office staff was friendly no complains there but we toured and they showed us a beautiful renovated 3 bedroom unit and promised they would have a renovated 2 bedroom unit for our move in time. Unfortunately, when it was time for us to sign a lease they said Corporate had told them to stop renovations for the summer and refused to tell me that ...
in an email each time I asked until I called them directly and asked. Still a great deal for the location but if they say they have renovated units available for you don't trust that, as I felt they just wanted our application fee money on an empty promise. I wish no bad on the staff and management but plan to be in the older outdated units despite what they tell you.
