September 4, 2024The Amelia is located in Quincy Center. For us that means that our medical offices are in the next building, together with our credit union offices. The US Post Office is a block away; the public library is a block away; there is a park across the street with fountains; the City Hall of Quincy is in the park; food shopping is two blocks away on Southern Artery; there are nearby restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores, a dry-cleaning shop that does alterations; the Red Line of the MBTA is ...across Hancock St, a block away. In other words, for us the location is excellent! We enjoy the view to the east--we can see Fore River Bay, the sail boats, Quincy Bay, the eastern part of Boston, shipping, air traffic into and out of Logan. The YMCA with huge swimming pool and all kinds of physical activities to choose from with membership, although the Amelia has its own "workout" room on the 2nd floor. There's a "concierge" service for packages as well as USPS regular deliveries. If you have a dog, there's a dog park. If you like to grill there's a deck with two big gas-fired grills for picnics and private parties. Occasionally there are social events to which all residents are invited. Taken altogether, the Amelia is a wonderful place to live, especially for us, as retirees.Property Manager Responded

July 19, 2024If you can afford the rent you don’t have to look at any other buildings. Living in downtown Quincy is great. I have lived here 50 years and own a house as well. June 14, 2024We--Cynthia and I--love living here. We have an apartment that suits our needs as a retired couple that has a lovely eastern view. We are convenient to our medical offices, credit union, US Post Office, the Crane Library, a park with fountains, Town Hall, easy access to MBTA Red Line, restaurants, YMCA, food shopping. Our car is protected in underground parking. The administration of the building is staffed with smart, efficient and pleasant people who are always ready to help. live literally anywhere else
September 8, 2023Do not live here. The management company does not have your best interest at heart, all they care about is money. We had a horrible move out experience - they screwed up our move out date and when we tried to push back they said that the manager who told us she would change our move-out date wasn't authorized to do so, and we would be charged thousands extra if we stayed past the date they had on file. They would not even allow us to pay a pro-rated amount to stay the extra 10-ish days. The real ...punch to the face was about 2-3 weeks after we moved out we received an email from The Amelia letting us know we had a remaining balance of about $84 for our sewer bill (which was posted after we had vacated the apartment), no big deal right? The email said we had 30 days to forward them the payment. We attempted to pay through our online portal the same day but since we had already moved out our access was denied. Not even 5 days later we receive a threatening email from a debt collector letting us know our $84 sewer bill had been sent to collections. The Amelia said they send any remaining balances straight to collections after you move out - would've been great to know that beforehand! I can't wait for their response to this review to reach out so we can "make this right", like we haven't been "reaching out" for months with them refusing to work with us on any of these issues. Live literally anywhere else. There are like 10 other luxury complexes within a mile radius - save yourselves the headache and sub-par amenities.Property Manager Responded

August 2, 2023Don't let Amelia try and pass itself off as a brand new building it's not and the price does not reflect that. While the location is great for commuting the appliances are getting older, the AC units are out of date. Also bad design with the windows they don't really open that muchProperty Manager Responded

February 27, 2023One of the excellent things about living at The Amelia is that if you have something that needs fixing you can either go to the on-line contact or call and speak to one of the office staff and they schedule an appointment with one of their in-house knowledgeable and skillful maintenance men who do the job right and soon.Property Manager Responded

Dont Stay here
October 17, 2022Terrible maintenance…. The building has been having plumbing issues where no water is available not even hot or cold just no water. also the AC of the building broke down with the apartment at 94°, the only solution that the maintenance person said that go and buy a fan the building is good but the service is maintenance and upkeep is terrible.Property Manager Responded

September 26, 2022The Amelia is an apartment community rather than just a building, The staff is friendly as well as efficient and effective in their service to the people who live here. They have helped us find reserved underground parking after we got our handicapped permit. They've helped us with setting up our electronic rental payments with our bank. They've even knocked on our door with packages from the mail room for us. We love the views of Quincy Bay and the skies in all kinds of weather; our credit ...union, dentist, the library, Presidents' Square (fountain park), even a Starbuck's are well within walking distance.
