Terrible
December 7, 2021I lived here for a one year from July 2020 to July 2021. I came here expecting it to be nice and peaceful but boy was I wrong. The building was full of drug dealers, homeless people, and rodents. Funny thing is I only knew like 2 actual students in the whole building. Packages being stolen all the time, multiple robberies and car thefts occured here when I lived there(would also regularly come out to find cars in the parking lot on cinder blocks with smashed windows), a homicide happened at the ...side door right outside of the building, and multiple other shooting across the street and in the neighborhood. Then there's homeless people sleeping in the laundry rooms and stairwells , the doors to get into the building have locks but if you simply pull the door with a bit of force it will come open. The whole building reeks of weed, cigarettes, and urine. If you enjoy coming home and turning on the lights to see a bunch of little grey spots zoom across your carpet back under the oven, then this is the place for you.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Mice infestation and sketchy practices
October 9, 2021I lived here for two years, when I first came in the carpet was in a really bad shape (this is important later), the experience was ok for about 4 months (reason why I signed for a second year) and the it went downhill. Constant problems with mice, the place was infested, once my roommate and I had to take out 4 rat babies out of our apartment, they were reproducing in the building, this problem persisted through the rest of my leisure, we had to constantly kill them, which was awful for me, it ...was a nightmare. The worst of all is that they blame the residents for this, because what makes more sense, that all the residents have bad cleaning habits or that you have a mice infestation? A friend that lived upstairs told me he couldn't sleep because he could feel them running under his bed. After my first year they inexplicably charged me for the carpet that they themselves didn't fix before I came in, they also charged me for this at the end of the second year, I was charged $300 for a problem that was there in the first place, even though they replaced the carpet with my money the first year! And they just write "cleaning fees" as an explanation, deducting a lot of money from your security deposit. The second year was even worse, my neighbors from downstairs were having parties until 4 am every day, we addressed the situation multiple times with management and they did nothing, constantly smoking weed, which was getting into our apartment because of the poor quality of the floors. We even called the police on them once, this situation was a nightmare, they had speakers that made our whole apartment vibrate, I couldn't sleep for weeks, yet nothing was done about it, management didn't care once for our complaints. They lost packages, they charge for invisible damage at the end of your lease with no explanation, the cooling system is so antiquated that we didn't have any AC during May, which is the start of the summer, it got so hot I couldn't sleep for days. They blame you for their evident mice infestation, which they have had for years now, yet they don't address it. Terrible place, it is torture to live here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Awesome Place to stay
September 19, 2019This place is AMAZING! Management is active , and it is a safe and quiet community. I have been living here for two years, and my experience has been GREAT!Review from Apartments.com
Best Option Close to Campus
September 18, 2019So far, my roommates and I have had a very positive experience living here. Maintenance Staff and Office Staff are always helpful. When our AC broke, the maintenance staff ordered a new part but since it was going to take so long to come (summer order backups) he fixed it himself. However, the best part of living here is the affordable price. I have visited other, much more expensive, apartment complexes and was less impressed with the management and the quality of the apartment. The only ...downside is that the building is very old, but overall I am very happy with University Club.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Go somewhere else!
August 23, 2019Dreadful rats, lack of security- “access-controlled” doors were broken the entirety of my six month stay. Management has no idea what they’re doing and five people will tell you five different things. They can comment “We’re sorry, please come and speak to us,” and I have many times and been disrespected, had my disability mocked, and have had the leasing agent audibly breath in annoyance at me. The only positive thing about this building is the awesome maintenance staff. Frequently overcharged ...on my bill and when my mother came to visit for graduation, she had her WHEELS taken off of her car in the parking lot overnight- no one cared because they didn’t have cameras facing that direction. My security deposit of over $1,000 is currently being held as it takes 4-6 weeks after move-out to receive back. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to go elsewhere.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Worst Apartment Complex in the Area- Do NOT Live here.
February 2, 2019My boyfriend recent moved down to Maryland (in August), and without doing much research, he chose to live at University Club. Worst mistake of his life. I go down to visit pretty frequently, and since then I have had multiple encounters with mice in the building/apartment (they send exterminators in, but mice come back soon after), his toilet barely flushes, for the first few months his apartment door wouldn't even lock and they took their time to fix it even though it was a danger to one of ...their tenants, and there are two locks on the door, but they only give you the key to one. So they could lock you out of your apartment at any time. For a while, the side door was broken, and it wouldn't close. It was like that for at least a month, so anyone could walk in and out of the apartment building whenever they pleased. That same door area floods whenever it rains or snows. Every single time I go visit, I get my car towed regardless of if I have a parking pass or not and the office does nothing about it because they get money from cars in their parking lot getting towed. A weekend parking pass is $20, then I still have to pay $175 plus the cost of an uber almost every single time to get my car back. My boyfriend has to wait to do laundry until I visit because the closest laundromat is a few miles away. Yes, they offer laundry facilities on every floor, but do they work? Never. the only good thing is the staff; they're very friendly and nice, but the management cares more about making money than they do about their tenants. There are two elevators in the building, and one always breaks down. The lobby/elevators/stairs are always dirty; I don't think I've ever seen them clean. It comes furnished; but the leather couch that came in the unit was already torn apart when he moved in; if you sit on it in shorts you get pieces of leather stuck all over your legs. The beds/bed frames are EXTREMELY loud- if you turn or move the slightest, the apartments next to you will hear. The walls are very thin; you can definitely hear your neighbors throughout the day- even people across the hall and two doors down- you can still hear them. Overall, I'd give this place less than one star if I could. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT live here. Words can't even begin to describe how disgusting this place is.Property Manager Responded

Spend your money elsewhere
May 18, 2017It may seem like a good deal because it's relatively cheap and close to campus, but the list of issues is overwhelming, just get a house near campus and save yourself the trouble / money. 1) Constant water shut offs due to constant water issues / damage (anywhere from once every 2-3 weeks to 2-3x /week) *Water damage lead to large portions of the front lobby being torn apart / replaced for an entire summer (~3 mo.), turning it into a construction site. Issues were clearly not resolved due to ...continued water damage / shut offs / tearing up of walls / ceilings for repair. 2) Flooding issues blocking off at least one exit / entrance when it rains 3) No secure entry (there is one code to get into the building, which all the residents have access to, and can therefore share with whomever they please). *Side note: there was absolutely no external locking system to the building for 3 months while the key fob system was 'waiting for a replacement'. In lieu, there was a part time security guard posted at one entrance for about 8-10 hours a day. 4) Building common areas / lobbies / elevators are always, always dirty. 5)VERY limited guest parking with no free nearby parking (5 block radius) due to construction. 6) Something is ALWAYS broken (key fob entry, washing machines, entire building's water system)and it's never fixed in the time-frame it's promised. 7) The staff never reliably notify the tenants in a timely manner about any issues (earliest notice for a full-day water shut off may come anywhere from 24 hours ahead to 30 minutes after a shut-off occurs). 8) Only a couple full time staff in the front office, the rest are students, which rotate out frequently (adds to inefficiency of the property management, although they're generally nice). 9) BIG ONE: heating / cooling is CENTRALIZED, meaning they turn it from one to the other twice a year, with no reversal when temperatures fluctuate. Ex: 95 deg. apt in October due to a heat wave and the heating being turned on for the season. We were told to get a fan. Less serious: 1) One of the cardio machines was broken for about 6 months and one of the TVs in the gym has been non-functional for 2.5 years. Never any cleaning tools to wipe down equipment. 2) Laundry costs about $4/load (with a wash and dry cycle). Only 2 (2 washers, 2 dryers) per floor and they only take pre-loaded cards. 3) They sometimes do / do not take pets depending on who is managing the building, but its $75 / MONTH for pet rent.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
