Don't even bother
September 22, 2025The ONLY reason this place gets even one star is the location--Laguna Canyon is stunning, close to trails and the beach. But don't be fooled. This property is a nightmare and Greystar is one of the worst management companies you could ever deal with. Management: Greystar is a soulless corporation that does not care about residents. Turnover in the office is constant, and while a few staff members mean well, they're stuck working for a machine that chews them up and spits them out. The Reality ...of Living Here: Crime: My catalytic converter was stolen in my private spot. Management's response? Nothing. Not even basic support. Flooding Disaster: A "500-year flood" destroyed ground-floor units in San Tropez. Tenants were left hanging with zero real help. Shameful. Rodents: This place is INFESTED. Mice chew through walls. Traps fill up constantly. Pest control shows up, shrugs, and leaves. The problem never goes away. Noise & Dogs: Paper-thin walls and ceilings mean you hear EVERYTHING. And what's with all the pit bulls in tiny apartments? I love dogs, but this setup is unsafe and miserable. Weed Everywhere: Supposedly "non-smoking," yet the entire property reeks of weed drifting off decks and into units. If you don't want your home to smell like a dispensary, good luck. Bottom Line: This property has gone completely downhill over the past few years. It's unsafe, dirty, mismanaged, and ridiculously overpriced for what you get. Worst Rental Experience Ever
September 2, 2025If you're considering renting at the Artisan in Laguna Beach, I recommend looking elsewhere. This was the worst renting experience I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly. Within the first week I suspected mold due to smell and breathing issues, and other tenants reported flooding and drainage problems. My unit smelled strongly of animals and smoke, even after duct cleaning. The lock system often failed, and after-hours access was a nightmare. Parking was a daily struggle—garages were ...blocked, rules constantly changed, and I was even towed after following management’s instructions. Noise was constant from construction and student parties, and pet policies were poorly enforced, leading to dog fights and unsafe conditions. Amenities looked nice but weren’t monitored—outsiders often used the pools, and the gym was chaotic. When I moved out, my full deposit was taken and I was billed for pet damage they couldn’t prove, despite being a clean and respectful tenant. Loving our new Laguna Home!
May 22, 2023It was a challenge finding a community that had it all but with the Artisan we found it! Beautiful well maintained neighborhood, gated with security, pool, gym & updated units- it really checked all our boxes. A little pricey but for this market a great deal! Ten minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from shops, dmv, groceries and thankfully my office. The express way is super helpful when needing to get in or out fast. The Artisan team has been very accommodating and helpful with my complicated ...cross country move. Happy tenant though and look forward to living here for years to come!Property Manager Responded
