I live in Asa apartments in Portland, facing north. EVERY morning, from 3am, to 4am, to 5 and 6 am, multiple times, Waste Management comes and makes HORRENDOUS noise with the dumpsters that are stored inside the apartment complex (we’ve taken video and pictures and many times they’re EMPTY). We have tried every avenue to ask for a time when Waste Management can come a little later, even in the evening, but of course it’s been months and nothing has changed. is considered “mixed housing”, as in there’s a commercial property on the street level that then ALLOWS Waste Management to come at any time, side-stepping the usual noise ordinance times. I repeat, unless you want your mental health and sleep completely destroyed, then this apartment is for you. We can’t wait to get out. Also, the building smells and is crumbling. People are unhappy.

Asa is a great place to live! I almost never hear my neighbors and the floor to ceiling windows give a beautiful view. Happy hours with free beer and wine are super fun. The leasing agent Sage is very helpful and great to chat with! Very much recommend!

Renter beware, say goodbye to your deposit, and hello to additional fees, on move out you will be given late fees for no explanation, monthly variable fees for the amenities that need repair or close early. On one occasion a person came in and bleed all over they lobby, probably got a fee for that.

That’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is the staff is excellent and the apartments are nice and quiet. The bad news is you’re going to see homeless people in the building and you’re going to see them all around the building and you’re not gonna feel safe.

I like the building and the staff here are excellent. This neighborhood along with most of Portland is experiencing a lot of homeless issues. The maintenance staff does an excellent job of cleaning up all the garbage, human waste, and needles around the building. They are very professional and I do not envy their job.
