Enjoyed my stay!
February 14, 2021In my stay at Ashbrook I truly enjoyed living there. The maintenance staff is responsive, the grounds are kept clean and the area is safe. You can tell how hard everyone works to make sure the property is maintained. I had to leave earlier than expected due to an issue out of everyone’s hands and Danni and Ashley in the office were understanding, gracious and worked with me through the process and I couldn’t be leaving more satisfied than I am. February 23, 2020When I submitted my intent to move, they tried to change the termination terms of my lease to the tune of $546.39 being improperly charged to me. It took multiple emails from me to implore them to comply with the original terms of my lease before they finally did. Then, my final account statement was incorrect, favoring Ashbrook Apartments by $333.47. (They claimed I owed $216.07 when, in fact, they owed me $117.40.) My complaints – and my calculations – were dismissed, and I was threatened with ...my account being turned over to collections if I didn’t pay them the money they believed they were owed. Again, it took multiple communications, time away from work, and eventually a call to their corporate headquarters before my calculations were understood to be correct (by an “independent person outside this office,” according to the property manager). I find it ridiculous that management must rely on an outside authority to do basic math.Property Manager Responded
March 2, 2020Thank you for taking the time to review our property. All our residents are important to us, and we want your experience to be excellent from move-in to move-out. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience the situation with your move-out and refund caused you. According to our records, your refund was issued in July as soon as our corporate team learned of the errors on your account. The manager at the time of your move-out has been let go, and we have a new manager in place. We found a number of errors occurred during the previous manager's tenure, and we are auditing ledgers and lease agreements on a regular basis to ensure that this error does not occur again.

Initial Thoughts - Just What We Needed!
July 29, 2019My husband and I moved here almost 2 months ago, and the staff have been amazing ever since the first tour. Kat is so nice and always remembers our names. They seem to be pretty organized in the office for the most part. Maintenance requests are dealt with usually within only one day, and the maintenance man Jimmy is very nice and knowledgeable. The apartment was very clean and painted nicely when we moved in, mail packages have been easy to receive through the office, there are free treats in ...the office, there are fireplaces in each unit, the pool is always clean, the neighbors and whole neighborhood is so quiet we feel like we have our own house on our own property. We really have no complaints at this point. It is surprising to see some bad reviews on here, as we have not had any problems and don't see that there will be any in the future.Property Manager Responded

overpriced and falling apart
October 8, 2017I had a terrible experience living at ashbrook. The apartments are low quality and extremely overpriced and the office staff-- Bethany and Nicole--were appallingly rude and unprofessional during every interaction. The apartment has absurd rules and regulations. You need a parking pass for yourself and your guests at all times. A tow company literally prowls the parking lots waiting to boot cars without passes which is a huge inconvenience if you're having friends over. You need a pool pass to ...access the pool (which is always full of children) and they are incredibly strict about overnight guests. If you have someone stay more than twice during the week, they threaten to evict you unless you add them to the lease (for a fee, of course). Don't waste your money at Ashbrook. There are several other great complexes in Carrboro that are much higher quality for the same (or even less) money, and they won't boot your car.Property Manager Responded

Average but costly
August 4, 2015Ashbrook started renovating there apartments and the look just ok. Mine has not been renovated and I don't want to move everything out and put it in storage just so that I can get an up grade and a higher price. I have been here 6 yeRs and the management has changed at least 8 or 9 times. I'm ready for a change.Review from Apartments.com
