Honest Review – Be Cautious If You Have Kids

I lived at Ashwood Valley for one year with my toddler in a fully carpeted apartment. When I moved out, I was shocked to be charged $718 for full carpet replacement due to what they called “staining throughout.” These were small, normal marks from daily family life — nothing excessive or destructive.
Despite this, no attempt was made to professionally clean the carpet first and they insisted on replacing all the carpet (which was already 4 years old), then billed me for the 3 “remaining” years ...
of carpet life. I was told if I didn’t pay, I’d be sent to collections — an incredibly stressful threat while moving out of state.
I understand landlords have policies, but this felt extremely rigid and unfair. If you’re a family or have young children, I urge you to think carefully before renting here. A small amount of normal wear could cost you hundreds of dollars — even when you leave your apartment clean and lived-in with care.
