February 7, 2021Very shoddy construction. You hear everything your upstairs do. Even with considerate neighbors, you'd hear every step. Or, you might get nightmare neighbors like mine that are up until 330 in the morning sometimes, stomping around back and forth in their apartment. The female up there thinks she can sing and screams opera songs and scales while playing piano for hours and hours at a time on weekends. Don't get me started on the big, huge dog running back and forth all night. I've had to miss ...work a couple days because these people were making noise all night, walking back and forth every 5 minutes. The whole kitchen shakes with every step. Also, the apartments don't look as nice as what's pictured here. They also charge more than what's on here once they know you're interested. For me, the apartment layout that I wanted, they didn't have any left at the price that was listed on here. They offered me one similar, but almost $100 more per month. But yeah, the big thing is the noise. Management will send out reminder emails to residents to be considerate and keep the noise down because the wood construction makes a lot of noise. There's only so much management can do though when every step sounds like Godzilla lives above you. Don’t Do It!
January 8, 2021BEWARE! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!! the most unresponsive and uncaring staff, not just from the property, but also from the corporate office. Between the number of emails about a broken hvac system that resulted in very cold temperatures inside the unit and very hot summer days with electrical bills upwards of $400 a month and after moving out, charging exorbitantly for ‘damages’ to less than 300sqft of carpet space. I’ve asked to see the invoice for the charges, which says I’m paying for a ‘full’ ...carpet replacement. Why am I paying for full carpet replacement for an entire townhouse, when the ‘damage’ was for a very small 300ft piece of carpet space. Instead of disputing or sending me a breakdown of charges, they told me ‘there is nothing else we can do, your account has been forwarded to a third party. NO CARE, NO SOLVING, NO PROOF, THEY SENT ME STRAIGHT TO COLLECTIONS!! Disgusting behavior in the middle of covid, when people’s lives are being affected!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Wonderful Community!
January 1, 2020I just moved out of this complex after two years and it was nothing short of wonderful. So many management companies smile in your face until a lease is signed and then they are no longer helpful... I experienced it several times in the past. But not here. The leasing agents are all kind and helpful. Very communicative and professional. The community itself is conveniently located... close to a lot of shops without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of it all. It had everything I ...personally wanted and I had no issues. Disappointed
July 29, 2018At first site this is a great neighborhood. Good looking buildings, amenities, nice landscaping, good apartment's layout. I loved my apartment for its location, that was all I needed. But then the problems begin. I never had so many work orders placed before in my life. What looks good doesn't necessary works good. The washer, air conditioner, stove, oven, mold. The utility bills are very high, especially the water bill for one person is over $65 a month. Also since I have a terrace level place, ...my cell phone signal is at its lowest at all times, and it drops connection during the phone call more often than not. Same goes for the WiFi that I have to navigate to my network every time I step away from my laptop for a minute. And the biggest offender is the white powdery toxic substance scattered at the entrance of my building, and that's work of one of other tenant. That substance causes shortness of breathe, excess sweating, headaches, ringing in ears and overall is harmful for one's health. The leasing office staff knows that and does nothing to resolve the problem. Same goes for the emergency maintenance department. They all are hardly reachable. Great complex, with a few flaws
September 24, 2015I moved in this past July, and so far I've had a very positive experience. Everyone I've encountered, whether it's Avalon staff or residents of the complex, have been nice and friendly. The actual apartment itself (2 br, 1 ba on the first floor) is more than enough space for my daughter and I, and the appliances (although not the newest models) work great. While I haven't used all the amenities at Avalon at Traville, I've taken advantage of their gym and their pool, and both have met my ...expectations for the Rockville area. As of this posting, they are currently renovating the leasing office and other facilities, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. What caught my eye was the great customer service provided by the consultants in the leasing office. Regardless of who you speak to, you are guaranteed to work with a friendly, personable face. They are also quick to respond to maintenance requests - I requested that a light bulb in our breezeway be replaced and that my bath tub faucet needed to be re-caulked, and both were done in the same day. Some negatives for me would include location - while there are bus stops nearby, the closest metro train station is a 10-15 minute drive. There is also some congestion on the ramp getting onto 270 (southbound) during the morning rush hour, so you may have to plan your commute accordingly. While the shopping center across the way will have everything you need, I prefer to go to Fallsgrove, which has more options in regards to food. Some facts that you may or may not care about - ethnically diverse community, and plenty of families and children. No assigned parking, and the majority of the guest parking spaces are on one side of the complex. Trash/recycling are located at the corners of the complex, and I've seen some people drive their garbage or bulk trash over to them. Great place,bad management
July 30, 2015This is a wonderful community, with great amenities (pool, fitness center, close to parks)! It's in a great location, close to 270, 200, and metro for work. I've had problems with the linoleum tile coming unglued, lack of hot water, and major appliances not working.Any type of food or entertainment you want is a 5-10min drive away. Very family oriented, and super pet friendly. It's an older and very quiet community, however, so it's not for everybody. The staff is friendly and helpful for ...everyday things like deliveries. But the office keeps M-F 9-5 business hours, so if you have a similar schedule it can be a pain. If you rely on a leasing office to help with emergency service issues such as a broken hot water heater or leaky gas stove, this is not the place for you.
