This place is terrible

October 9, 2025Do not move here!! Save yourself the trouble — do not move here. I lived at Avery Point for one year. My rent was set to auto-pay and was never late. However, the move-out process was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. At move-in, I was told that I would receive my security deposit back after moving out by Deborah, Dasha and Wendy who assisted. After returning my keys, I was informed I would receive my deposit within 30 days at my forwarding address. I left a 0 balance with this ...apartment. When I followed up with Wendy, the apartment manager, she stated that my deposit was non-refundable. This was never explained to me during the leasing process, and I would never have agreed to that term knowingly. The entire leasing consultant failed to properly disclose this important information, which shows a clear lack of training and transparency!! I have called corporate several times, but Wendy has not returned my calls. Overall, my experience at move-out has been extremely frustrating and poorly handled. Future residents should be aware of unclear policies and poor communication before deciding to move here. Save yourself the trouble — do not move here.Property Manager Responded

Maintenance Magic
September 8, 2025I had placed a couple concerns with the front office. There was a mechanical disturbance from my neighbor’s townhome. The noise was ongoing off and on from Friday til Monday. The noise was disrupting sleep and left our ears ringing. I did not receive and feedback on Monday if the concern had been repaired. So my daughter and I walked to the office to speak with someone as the main line is answered by AI. The two sales people were with potential residents. They did not greet us nor state ...someone would be with us. Mr. Felix came in from the gym door and greeted us. He has fixed a number of issues in my home. Plus, he always speaks in passing. He inquired about my issue and I informed him that a couple of requests have been made. He asked for my address and said he had time to check it out. It should be noted that it was already close to closing time. Mr. Felix assessed the situation, followed up and advised me what I should do if I have the problem in my home in the future. I am thankful he took the time to check out what we deemed important to us to get a good night’s rest. We appreciate you, Mr. Felix!!!Property Manager Responded

Quick fix!!
June 3, 2025Our dryer stopped running properly a few days ago. I put in a non-emergency request Friday after hours, and Felix was here before noon on Tuesday! He seemed very knowledgeable and fixed my fuses in less than 45 minutes and then helped me look for something my cat has batted into the abyss. Great work and great guy!Property Manager Responded

Exceptional Service
September 24, 2024Archie and Tony worked together to remove my old water heater and install a new water heater. They were very cautious to work quietly as I work from my home office. They went above and beyond to answer any questions I had. Dumpster Fire
October 9, 2023Lived here since 2021 and since IRTLiving took over the place has become a slum. Cracks everywhere in the apartment, but office won't spend any money to fix them. A window is without a latch, and "locked" closed by a piece of wood inside of it, and It's been almost a month and a half with no word on it getting fixed besides "We're getting approval from corporate." Floors creaks wildly in the upstairs and stairway, like Scooby Doo haunted house stereotypical creaking, and a month and nine ...days I was told "We have approval to work on the floor" but nothing since. The front office staff are rude or ignore you, don't expect anyone to pick up the phone after 3:30. The higher tier staff are really nice, but have no authority to do anything. Any question you ask they'll have to ask corporate and they'll come back with "Oh, sorry, it's not in our policy." Corp offices ignore renters Most recently the policy has been changed to "help" renters by no longer allowing paying partial rent, so if you have a roommate one of you'll have to send your half to them so they can pay it in its entirety. This also means you cannot partially pay it throughout the month. Other Maintenance requests are slow to show to be worked on. The maints guys are good people, but the whole place is falling apart and the office doesn't want to cut into profits by hiring more maint staff or do any sort of preventative maintenance besides making the outside of the buildings look halfway decent. Their electronic system will charge you first and ask questions and refund later. Moving from one apartment at the end of your lease to another is in the system a "transfer" so it will automatically charge you the transfer fee of (I believe) $400, which you'll need to bring up with one of the office staff for them to then be confused over, ask each other about, then finally remove from your charges as an "oh sorry, it does it automatically." This is no the only instance of the system just charging you for stuff it thinks you owe. You are required to pay $45 each month for valet trash removal, no matter how close to the open-air dumpsters your apartment is, and no matter if you'd rather do trash yourself. You cannot avoid it, as it's "not policy". The people who pick up the trash will arrive anywhere from 5PM to midnight, or just may not show up at all and skip your apartment. AveryPoint and IRTLiving exist to squeeze every cent out of you while doing the absolute bare minimum to fix anything.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
