Bah humbug

If I could give it 0 stars I would…
March 1, 2023We have lived at Bar Harbor for less than 9 months total. In that time our AC has stopped working 4 times total (2 times within days of each other). The maintenance crew keep doing the bare minimum to fix the issues so they just keep occurring. The most recent incident I was told over the phone by maintenance that it was ‘almost his time to be off duty’ but he would come by and see if there was anything he could do quickly but it it took ‘additional supplies’ or anything too complicated it would ...have to wait until the morning since he was going ‘off duty’. My apartment was approaching 80 degrees at the time. Maintenance did come out, admitted it was an actual problem with the unit and stated it would be first priority the next morning. Previously when maintenance has ‘fixed’ issues it’s been a quick temporary fix I end up having to have them out to fix at least 2-3 more times. These fixes included leaking toilets, broken drawers that didn’t work in the kitchen, etc. And this was in a ‘newly remodeled’ apartment. My husband finally purchased parts and fixed the drawer issue himself after multiple maintenance requests for help. Our ‘water’ bill is anywhere from $160-$200 per month on top of our rent. They state the bill is evenly divided amongst the entire building rather than charged per apartment. We are on our third maybe even fourth round of ‘management’. Most have been relatively rude and don’t consider the resident problems anything of concern. The gym has VERY limited space and in that space there are two large machines that don’t even work. The pest problem is outrageous. We have asked for multiple extra treatments and it’s just a never ending battle. Fleas, roaches, etc. I’ve heard this may be a problem with multiple complexes in Seabrook but I have lived in Seabrook apartments before and never experienced this.Property Manager Responded

Fantastic Home in Seabrook
September 22, 2022Bar Harbor is safe, inviting, and fun. I walk my dog throughout the day and sometimes late at night, and I always feel safe. Everyone is so nice and welcoming; my neighbors are kind and caring. Jeremy, Kevin, and Alberto always wave at the residents even though they are so busy keeping our community wonderful. Roach city!
August 13, 2022There are roaches all over the place and we pay for pest control every month. At this point I think they aren’t even real. If you think you want to live here think again, because roaches will crawl on you in your sleep(speaking from experience). Maintenance Crew is On top of It
February 18, 2022The maintenance team is very good at what they do, and they're quick about responding to requests. I've submitted a couple requests, and they always showed up either that day or the following day (if I submitted the request after hours) to fix it. Recently made 4 requests in one evening, they showed up the following morning and fixed all the items in about 30 minutes or less. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help. Not worth moving into
April 11, 2021I lived there for over 2 years. The staff were great when I first moved in but that changed. They went through only one office person while I was there. Maintenance was good at first but got worse the longer I was there. Let's just say the "upgrades" they told me about weren't that great. The toilet constantly over flowed & there is no ceiling fan or light fixture in the bedroom. The ladies in the office became useless after a while. When there was an ice storm back in 2014 they didn't ...bother to put sand on the stairs so I slipped quite a few times. The fact you have to pay over $50 for covered parking is ridiculous. They allowed a rusted out car to sit in the parking lot for years. The only good thing is that it didn't flood during Harvey, just the parking lot.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Horrible Management. Needs to be dealt with
October 23, 2016Horrible apartments to live in. Horribly kept up. The apartment we moved into has had so many problems. We moved in two months ago. Door won't even close, horribly sealed, door has dents, power outages, rudest staff you will ever meet. I have contacted corporate about my concerns and issues. That was 17 days ago. Haven't received a call nor notification of any changes or problems resolved . Side walk is still broken and covered in mud. I have slipped and tripped multiple times . Nothing has been ...resolved. Not worth the rent you pay , for the horrible customer service and property. I was also harassed by Nicole and Haley. Nicole wrongfully accused me of using my emotional support animal as an excuse to have her in the apartment. Two things wrong with that. 1. That's very illegal and I can sue. 2. Bar Harbor Apartments - pretty nice place
August 10, 2016I've lived here for a little over a year. It's a much nicer place than many places I've lived. The staff are courteous, the maintenance guys are really nice and helpful. The rent is reasonable. If there are issues with neighbors, it's usually taken care of quickly. I haven't had an issue with any neighbors since one couple was forced to move out (they fought loudly all the time, cops were called on them several times). It's a quiet area. The only issues I really have is that dog droppings ...are kind of everywhere, as picking it up isn't really enforced. Also, the recycling bins by the dumpsters usually aren't emptied. If you go to them and they "look" emptied, they only took what was on the top holding the lid open so that it can close, but it's still full. Comfortable apartments with friendly staff!
August 1, 2016I have lived at Bar Harbor about a year now in a second floor, one-BR apartment. I just resigned my lease, so I will be staying at least another year. Though the apartments are older, I think they were built in the 80's, they have been well-maintained and are very comfortable. The staff in the leasing office is always there to answer questions or help with concerns. The maintenance staff is quick and reliable. I have lived in several other complexes around the U.S., but this is the first one I ...have actually resigned a lease with. They just added a nice grilling area to the pool. My only complaints are the fact that many of the pet owners, unfortunately, don't pick up after their dogs. As someone with two larger dogs, this is very frustrating. A small dog run area would make this complex the ideal place for me. I have heard that this might be in the works, which is very exciting!
