Building management is so responsive and kind - Angel and Bertha are truly lovely and now feel more like friends than building management. A Fantastic Home in the Heart of the City
July 30, 2024 - Review from Apartments.comI’ve been living at Blackbird since 2021, and I absolutely love it here! The location is unbeatable – everything you need is right at your fingertips. The building features an upscale food hall on the ground level, complete with a full bar and beer garden, offering a variety of delicious options. Being right across from the metro station has made commuting incredibly convenient. The neighborhood is vibrant, with plenty of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. Angel and Bertha have always been attentive and provide a management team you can truly rely on. They also throw the best resident events, from live entertainment and big-screen movie nights by the pool to happy hours at The Roost—definitely going to miss that. Poor Management
October 24, 2022 - Review from Apartments.comI lived in the Blackbird for 1 yr. The space was okay, with some small complaints. However, ultimately, I had a terrible time with the management. I would have trouble getting certain things fixed (even though the maintenance team is great!) and there were incongruities with what the management team would tell me. I felt lied to.
Great apartment with good perks
April 26, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comI have really enjoyed living here. Very modern units with space-efficient layouts and good closet storage. I moved in back in July when the building was first opening and there were a few hiccups in part because all the floors weren't finished but management was very apologetic and went out of their way to help. I have lived in a lot of apartment buildings in DC and this feels like one of the few where management/ leasing office are not out to screw over residents. The Roost food all below is ...also amazing and the building has a lot of great specials/resident perks with them. I feel like similar apartment buildings are always boasting about resident perks but The Blackbird actually delivers on this. The only cons I can think of: 1. My unit looks over the circle and it can sometimes be a bit loud both during the day and at random late-night hours 2. The building uses a third party service (Conservice) to charge for utilities like water AND sewer and my bill is often $80 month for just that even though I live in a studio, this does NOT include pepco electricity or wifi, which residents pay on their own.Read More
