Terrible apartment complex
September 6, 2025Terrible apartment complex. Within 4 months of living here, there have been multiple issues. The apartment unit was filthy upon moving in, with one of the shower drains being backed up and unable to drain. The smaller bathroom has black mold at the base of the shower and the shower floor is painted over so you risk paint peeling off on your feet every time you shower. The washer and dryer did not work and were also filthy-the insides were covered in sand and the filter hadn't been cleaned in a ...long period of time. Maintenance took 2+ weeks to come out and fix the washer and dryer. The living room blinds fell off the brackets, leaving no privacy to the apartment, and maintenance took 2 months to come fix them, even after 4+ maintenance requests. The excuse from management? The apartment complex hadn't had a manager in 2 months to attend to these problems. The kitchen window was not able to be opened past a few inches, which poses a serious safety hazard. Any request for maintenance over the phone was met with rude and inattentive leasing agents. There is also a massive bug issue in this unit from being close to trees and bushes, anything from centipedes to spiders, and everything in between. We are currently counting down the days until the lease is up. Whatever you do, don't live here. You'll be able to find a nicer, more affordable and attractive place than this sinkhole.Property Manager Responded

July 15, 2025As a tenant with a documented mobility disability, I’ve faced ongoing issues with Beacon Management at Bloomfield Villas. My request for accessible parking led to inconsistent communication, improper fees, and threats to revoke access unless I signed a retroactive lease addendum. I was charged $40/month under duress for a carport not included in my lease, followed by a late fee. This has caused undue hardship and feels retaliatory. Beacon’s “WeCare” support system offers vague, dismissive ...replies with no real resolution. While they respond publicly to reviews, the real issues remain — because the problem is the management itself, top to bottom.Property Manager Responded

don't do it!
January 5, 2024Please don't let these photos fool you - they're only showing you the updated units in this complex. The bones of this complex are absolutely horrific. The complex was built in the 80's, with very little insulation, the windows are horrible and you can hear everything through your walls and ceilings. You will be able to hear your upstairs neighbors doing absolutely anything. When I moved in, the filth of the many dirty people living in my unit before me was still stuck to the walls, the kitchen ...and the bathroom. Utilities are absolutely out of control high as there is no insulation, the windows are horrible and everything is outdated. Between electricity, gas and water, you can expect to pay around $225 a month for your utilities. You currently can't even view your water bill, they just add the $70+ a month to your rent. They switched over management companies and rent has gone up 40% since they took over, with absolutely no upgrades in the unit. They redid the clubhouse, which nobody uses and only the leasing agents get to enjoy. You can't submit work requests online anymore, and the payment portal has changed multiple times. I've had horrific experiences with multiple neighbors, who don't respect your space or your property. My car has been destroyed by the reckless people throwing their doors open into mine. You will smell every single thing your neighbors are cooking, and due to the majority of the complex being Indian, you will smell very strong scents from their cooking constantly. There are so many other complexes in the area you can live in. I promise you, do not get swayed by the good lighting, photography and updated units. This complex is an absolute nightmare. Any reviews you see from prior to 2020 I would not even listen to. This is an entirely different complex under the new management. When you come in, please look at how many units do not have cars parked in front of them. I am counting down the days until my lease is up.Property Manager Responded

DO NOT RECOMMEND
November 14, 2022I lived in these apartments for 3 years and everything was all good, until I moved out! THEY WILL LIE and CHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING. THEY ARE CHEAP TO START, BUT WILL TAKE YOU TO COURT FOR THINGS THEY SHOULD HAVE PAID FOR. I kept my apartment, spotless. They lied and said they had to replace the carpet which looked brand new when I left! They also had me pay to redo their countertops, even though NOTHING was wrong with them. They had someone move in my apartment a month after I left and still ...charged me for that month. When I refused to pay, they took me to court AND contacted my employer! Nice experience
May 19, 2019Been a resident for a year and just renewed my lease, great neighborhood, close to the bike trail which connects a lot of cities. Only downside is the noise from the neighbors above us disturbs my wife. Nothing has broken down since I moved in and the rent payment service online is very convenient. 4 year renter!
February 23, 2018I have to say over my 4 years I have enjoyed living in my unit. Pros: Great school district, nice size patio, pretty decent size apartments, maintenance is very attentive, office staff is pleasant. Updated pool. Cons: month-to-month option is not very reasonable, management does not work with you if you need break lease for emergency reasons. Snow removal is a slow process. Have your own salt! Units are not updated completely but they charge premium rent. Work out facility is in not so good ...shape. They need updates. Great experience
March 20, 2016I've lived here in Bloomfield Villas since September. I'm a student at Oakland University and I needed somewhere close to campus to live. Not only is my apartment only about 5-10 minutes away from campus, it's also in Downtown Auburn Hills. Downtown is pretty small, but there are a couple of nice parks and restaurants in the area that do make living here a perk. The apartment itself is awesome. My friends are always impressed when they walk in the door. The kitchen is spacious. Of course the ...appliances are a bit old, but they work fine. The washer and dryer in unit is a definite selling point. Both bedrooms are quite large, and the living spaces are great. My only real qualm with living here is that the bathrooms aren't very well ventilated. There are vents, but they don't do much in terms of dehumidifying the bathroom, so everything gets a bit sweaty when someone has a hot shower. Also, any time you turn on the light in the bathroom, the vent also turns on. In my bathroom the vent is QUITE loud, but my roommate's vent is just a quiet hum. I've gotten used to it, so no big deal. Bloomfield Villas has been an excellent first-rental experience. The leasing office made it easy for us to get into our apartment. There were no hoops to jump through, and the women who work in the office are friendly and were willing to talk us through any questions we had. March 15, 2016I absolutely love it here. The apartment is huge and well maintained with newer windows and newer appliances. Matinance has never been an issue for me always on time and very professional including after hours when our starter stopped working on our heater. Grounds are safe and well lit. It is well worth your money. My cats and I love our balcony and utilize it every year to grow herbs and flowers. Honestly If I could live here for good I would. Everything is within walking distance!
