New and better maintenance
September 12, 2025I have recently moved in and heard there was not good maintenance. After being here for a couple weeks I met the guy doing my maintenance named Dave. He is a great worker, very friendly and kind and accommodated all of my needs. Now with new maintenance, including Dave, I think Buena Vista has made a very wise decision to keep the community well kept and happy.Property Manager Responded

April 15, 2025Have something wrong in your apartment? Send in a maintenance request! They might get to it in a month or two! Or even better! They might mark it as completed without even sending someone to check! I've fixed 75% of our issues myself.Property Manager Responded

No air conditioning for six weeks now
February 9, 2025I am only writing this because Buena Vista sent me an email requesting a review. Otherwise I refrain from bad reviews. On the evening December 30, our air conditioner was sparking and sizzling and tripping the breaker. I called the emergency maintenance and was accused of tampering with the system. “Nelson” told me to flip the breaker switch. Since I was accused of something I didn’t do, I refused to touch any of the breakers. A maintenance person came to do it but did nothing else. It has been ...six weeks and our air conditioner is still inoperable. We were given a portable unit which is loud and ineffective at properly cooling our home. But the worst part has been the lack of communication from the office. I have sent nine unanswered emails over the course of time. I was told that the condenser needs replacing but they are waiting on a permit and that “these things take time”.. According to the Pinellas County website, condenser permits are done via express, same-day service. I spoke with two air conditioner service companies who each said that the longest they have ever waited on a permit from the county was five days. I asked the office, via email, to explain why ours is taking so long and they will not reply. We have been forced to put our rent in escrow and will need to terminate our lease for Buena Vista’s breach of the lease. All of this is so unnecessary. If they would simply reply to any of the nine emails I have sent, we wouldn’t need to take matters through the circuit court. It’s ironic that they won’t reply to my emails, but they have the time to email me requesting a review.Property Manager Responded

No maintenance
November 21, 2024I moved here this month AC went out a day later work order is still pending. If you notice a good percentage of units are using window units . They give no real feed back or honest communication on when the issue plaguing their complex will be fixed . Pay the extra $100 / month for a maintenance crew and working ac . I regret moving here every day
September 18, 2021I currently live on site at Buena Vista. This is a huge complex and they are terribly understaffed. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MOVE SOMEWHERE THAT IS UNDERSTAFFED. The other reviews are right, maintenance requests are left unresolved for AT LEAST weeks. You will be waiting weeks best case scenario for basic requests. We currently have two outstanding requests, not including the multitude of issues we identified during the initial walk-though. When we run our sink the water comes flooding out from the ...bottom of the dish washer. We have towels stuffed under the dishwasher trying our best to keep the water off the floor. The top hinge on the master bedroom door has detached because the wood is stripped, the nails fell out. I am so worried about what I'll do after the bottom hinge detaches too. On our move-in day inspection, we identified and listed on paper many many issues with the apartment that we did not want to be blamed for. One of those things was broken blinds in the second largest bedroom. Two months later, we have just been flagged as violating the lease due to broken blinds. Are you kidding me? How about you come and fix it then? Why are they so concerned with the illusion when the inside of the apartments are rotting due to disrepair. It's a joke. I would like to be clear, the individuals that work here are perfectly kind people. The one maintenance guy I met was really nice. I think he said our move-in day was his first day on the job. Also Dontee, a manager, is so sweet and when I express my issues to her or the other manager they are always nice about it. Nice people that get nothing done. They make me feel like something is going to be resolved and then nothing is. The only person I do not enjoy talking to is Cristina, but I'm sure she's burnt out being one of the only employees I ever see. I'm sure they would say their hands are tied and they're doing their best. I want to believe that's true. It does not change the fact that as a tenant I am absolutely horrified. HORRIBLE, NASTY AND BUG INFESTED
August 30, 2021The pictures online are not what the Apts look like at all!! We had problems from day one and they don’t care that there are roaches and termites and mold from water leaks. It took almost 7 months to come fix roof leak and had about 35-40 maintenance requests and they took there sweet time and then never fully fixed anything!! We finally are out of there and trying to charge us almost $1300 for carpet which is a joke also on the 3rd charge you $50 for late fee and another $50 on the 10th!! The ...pool was closed the whole time we lived there up until last month or so!! Maintenance is a joke and can’t fix anything and people in office are rude and just all around horrible place to live don’t put your family through what we went through BEWAREProperty Manager Responded

Don’t move here
