Bad maintenance/management define this place
May 31, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comThe maintenance/management of this community has fallen off dramatically over the past several months. Whenever we submit a maintenance request, pick a random number between 0 and 35, and that's how many days it will take to be addressed. They don't offer appointments, so residents often have to be prepared for maintenance employees to possibly enter the unit from 9-5 on weekdays, potentially for stretches of several weeks at a time. Phone calls, voicemails, and e-mails to remind employees of ...maintenance requests, or ask for a status update from the leasing office, are almost always ignored. I sometimes have to find ways to be at home during the day (telework, etc.) to visit the office in person to ensure that tasks are addressed. For example, my heat went out several times during the winter and there wasn't urgency to get it fixed; several days often went by before it was fixed, with no responses given to any of my attempts to reach staff (except for visiting the office in person). I had to beg repeatedly to get them to offer me space heaters, in the meantime. My HVAC went out again in April, and it took them 17 days to fix it (no fan in the meantime to circulate air). It would've been much longer without my persistence. My dishwasher had significantly rusty racks, and it took them 3 months to provide replacement racks, and that was with repeated queries from me. It is very frustrating living in this community. They don't do preventive maintenance like checking seals, caulk, etc. so the resident has to monitor. They also have an exterminator that comes twice a month to the property area, but no more often than that, which could be an issue if something happened at the wrong time. The wall electrical sockets are "child proof" but are actually difficult to push a plug into, for most adults, based on experience of all of my guests and I. The plumbing systems are less robust than the places I've lived at in the past, so I've learned to flush more often, snake the sink drain periodically, etc. to try to avoid needing to plunge or call maintenance. It's sad because the apartments are beautiful, the faux hardwood floors are a nice touch. They are pretty spacious, and the lighting is good. It's a good location and the area is pretty; the county rec. center is also a few minutes' walk...but they're ruining it with horrible management. Bottom line: Don't live here if you can afford to live at a place with decent maintenance/management.Read More

July 2, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comIf you like algae-encrusted buildings, rusting metal, crumbling concrete, filthy common areas, disintegrating ceilings, and employees with links to organized crime, this the place for you! Pics don’t do it justice. The buildings have needed power washing for the past 2 years; the formerly yellow siding is grey and green in places. Stairs are crumbling and literally coming apart. Big cracks in the wall inside my apartment. When I moved in, the carpet smelled like pee. First time I ran the ...dishwasher black gunk filled up the bottom of it and I had to unscrew all the parts to clean out the mold and decaying food that had built up. The washing machine smells like a dead rat took up residence - after multiple loads of bleach, vinegar, Oxi clean, special washing machine cleaner, etc. The rubber gasket was filled with an inch think layer of gray slime and dog hair. The tubs both clogged bc full of previous tenants’ hair. My car was vandalized right outside the building, to the tune of $1700+. My deductible was $500. Management is hostile and rude and will literally call the police on tenants who come to the leasing office during normal business hours. They do not answer the phone, and “work from home” for the past 15 months due to covid, even though Howard county is now 90% vaccinated and has the lowest case numbers in the state. You’re on your own if you need help of any kind. Office employees are just there to collect a paycheck for as little work as possible, and to terrorize law abiding tenants for fun. Run far away. Suburb Environment with the taste of small city!
October 11, 2015 - Review from Apartments.comBurgess Mill Station is the best environment for someone who wants a quietness of the suburbs yet the excitement of the city. This building is within walking distance of Old Ellicott City's finest bars, restaurants and shops, yet also very close to major highways making this location convenient for most commuters. The granite countertops and modern feel make this the perfect apartment for anyone! Oh, and my puppy loves this pet-friendly environment too :)
