another later statement that apartment was only a “viewing” apartment. So which is it? We were also told we would get a discounted rate which was also not reflected on the lease agreement they finally sent and the different/new unit they had listed on the lease, was not the same unit number as what was in their email. So again, which is it? Either two things happened. 1 is they took our deposit without having an apartment available or 2 they took our deposit and gave our unit to another tenant after we had already paid the deposit. (We were told “just because you put down a deposit on a unit doesn’t mean you will get it”) Also, we had concerns with the countertops in our original unit as they were older black countertops and not the new white ones they had advertised. We were told we were paying the same price as the units with the new countertops, and that we would originally get “refurbished” black countertops. At that point, we were still OK with proceeding with our lease agreement regardless of the countertops, and had NEVER agreed to change units nor were we ever notified of any changes until 1 day before move in. We had gotten the runaround since day 1 and now wasted precious time that could’ve been used towards finding a new home. I have NEVER had this issue with any other apartment I’ve lived in. This was absolutely ridiculous and is NOT OK. As already discussed and stated with the property manager, I will be contacting the BBB regarding how they have conducted business. I STRONGLY recommend you stay FAR AWAY from The Cambridge apartments in Angleton!!!
