Going down hill and bad maintenance
March 5, 2025I am so happy to be moving out of this place after 2 years. One of the worst complexes I have ever lived in. Maintenance orders take forever to get completed, and when they do the jobs they are done poorly or not completed. Example. The bathroom sink was leaking out the bottom. Took over a week for them to get to it. Then after they fixed it, it started leaking again. Waited another 2 weeks for them to come back. This time they put in a new sink. Never finished caulking around the sink though. ...There is black mold forming on the bathroom ceilings. Was already there when I moved in. Appliances are out dated, and anything replaced is cheap. Yesterday I got home from work to find a bunch of cat litter and cat poop right outside the entrance door to our building unit. Someone's trash bag ripped and decided not to clean it up. Called the office. They said they knew and put in a WORK ORDER!! Went to work this morning and the litter and crap is still there. I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous. Someone should have been sent to clean it up, not a work order. The outside lighting is horrible and gives the community an unsafe feeling. There are also vehicles sitting around the lots that have not moved in 8 months and no one has been in them. There is a car with a broken out window and no license plate, yet still sits there. Guessing most likely stolen vehicles that just get dumped, cause in Springfield stealing cars seems to be the cool thing to do. Management at this establishment has let this complex turn to crap the past couple years. Back in the day it may have been a pretty nice complex. Terrible leasing staff, horrible treatment upon moveout notice
November 15, 2024This place gave me probably one of the most dilapidated of their apartments that they could find. They didn't bother to level the floor or replace the carpet upon move-in. They don't tell you about big changes that you need to be aware of well in advance until 24 hours before said change happens. They double billed my utility charges the moth of and the month after my moving out. Their garages need repairs. If you store anything aside from your car in one, it will probably get destroyed by water. ...I know because 4 very expensive rugs were destroyed this way. If you need to resolve a question about anything, and they don't have an answer right away, they won't call you back. I wasn't going to write this review, but they sent me to collections because of a charge they billed me AFTER they gave me my security deposit back, and like I said, they never called me back when I wanted to discuss this. My toilets were broken for almost 2 weeks until I threatened legal action. HORRIBLE experience!Property Manager Responded

Deception
November 29, 2022Deception is the story here- go see the actual apartment not the leasing office I am sad to say this because the leasing agent was so friendly Your leasing office is beautiful. The surrounding is beautiful but the apartments need to be renovated, everything from the carpet, appliances everything so old and outdated As much as they have spent their money to fix the leasing office and all the amenities ....THEY NEED TO SPEND THE MONEY ON THE ACTUAL APARTMENT WHERE their TENANTS WILL BE ...STAYING Spend Money to fix the place up u might end up increasing the rent a little and everyone is happy ?Property Manager Responded

Terrible Service and Bait and Switch tactics
January 18, 2022Made an appointment to see a 1 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor. Came in, saw a 1 bedroom on the first floor (model) applied for the 1 bedroom on the 1`st floor. I was told that the available unit was in building 3 and it faced the parking lot. I was approved. Was sent addendums to sign. I called to ask what 08W11 meant in the apartment line and was told it was a 3rd floor unit. I'm sorry...I never asked for 3rd floor nor did I ever mention I wanted 3rd. suddenly, no 1st floor 1 beds ...are available and they took $150 out of my account for a "reservation"...needless to say, they have not returned my call....nor have I received the $150 back for an apartment that I did not want in the first place.Property Manager Responded

Please do not move here
March 15, 2021Please do not move here. They do not care about their tenants at all. Washer and dryer were broke for over 5 months. Never wanted to fix anything but always hassled you over rent. Please don’t sign a lease with these people. The apartments look nice but are cheaply made. Half my electric sockets didn’t work for a year and they never came to fix it. Even their maintenance said they only care about money. There is also mice.Property Manager Responded

Good place to live. Quiet and private.
December 15, 2020We have lived here since 5/5/2020 and are very pleased with the facilities overall. Staff is friendly and helpful and maintenance staff responds in a timely manner. The apartment we are in is an older unit but we like it. Neighbors are friendly overall. Our utilities are reasonable, much lower than the house we sold when we moved here. Lived here for 2 years
December 10, 2020I have lived at The Candles formerly Chatham Hills for almost 2 years. Any issues I have had, have been addressed promptly. The staff has always answered my questions in a timely fashion. I have never had any issues with the office staff, maintenance or pests. The property was built in the 1970's and for being this hold I feel that the place has been well maintained and looks beautiful. My apartment is gorgeous, I fell in love with in the moment I saw it! I wont be leaving here until I buy my own ...house. My children love the pool and we go for walks often. They love seeing all the flowers and dogs in the community. 10 out of 10. Good place
December 4, 2020I have nothing but good experience with the management and staff. When I had a problem it was resolved quickly and in a timely manor. No problem with bugs or rodents. I have seen a few spiders and ants but that is any where.Property Manager Responded
