A NIGHTMARE!

Poor management
April 18, 2020DO NOT RENT THERE! The only good thing is that the units are spacious.The advertised luscious grounds are non existent any more, most of the grass has been replaced with rocks.The fruit trees have been either removed or trimmed to death. The golf course is closed May through November and not an attractive view with the roaming coyotes trying to get your pet . You will see a lot of rats and roaches as well. The building is very old with serious plumbing problems. I personally got flooded twice and ...for the last 6 months of my lease did not have cold water, only burning hot... The manager ,Lupe, played every game in the book, from hanging up the phone to yelling at me that I am the only one complaining. They have handymen who would fix minor problems. When it comes to serious ones, the owner doesn't want to spend the money ... Also, keep in mind that you are not going to get your security deposit back, the owner will come up with all kinds of deductions and you will get only a small part of it. I got charged for a fence the management installed on my patio. And don't bother trying to reach the manager or the owner to discuss it, you will be completely ignored. Too bad I cannot give this place negative stars...Property Manager Responded

Best Location
May 8, 2019The location here is just Amazing. I am writing this from my home office on the second floor golf course with a view. My partner and I have lived here for just under 4 years and after living in San Francisco for over 7 years we just needed a calmer way of life . We live with our two shelter dogs that I call the ladies, Bella & Jazzy . We have all enjoyed jogging each morning and traveling on the may trails that are very close to home I must say what stands out in living here at Canyon Villas is ...the quiet & peacefulness of living in the desert. We have also taken advantage of their refer a Friend program which is were you receive $200 just for sharing this Beautiful place & they move on in. Lets say we just like to share a good thing and have now two of our very good friend living here. Seems like we all have either cats or small dogs. Later in the evening my hubby & I like to head down to the big pool area and commiserate over the day and meet with our new & old friends. Each Summer the management staff puts on a Tenant Appreciation BBQ by the pool .We are pretty social so we do not like to miss a party.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Unprofessional management
November 27, 2017Lupe the leasing agent does not follow up on repair requests The maintenance person is not a licensed contractor but a handyman. The repairs have to be repeated until you realize that the contractor does not know how to do quality work & we end up giving up on getting it fixed properly Lupe does not answer or return calls either. We have to hunt her down during business hours. Apartments are ok not luxurious as they claim Lupe is a poor listener and constantly talks over you.. Bugs everywhere ...especially roaches. Rents are regularly raised as some renters have stated. I do not know want to rent here again not recommend it. We are moving but we are stuck with the one year lease. Location is the only good thing about this complex. Zero stars if I was able to rate it accurately but the system does not.Property Manager Responded
November 29, 2017Unfortunately this review is retaliation. The person who wrote this signed a 1 year lease and received the first month of rent for free. After receiving the free month they wanted to break their lease. I offered to let them out of their 12 month lease if they paid for the free month of rent that they received. They refused and told me that if I didn't do what they wanted then they would "write bad reviews on the internet". We have very little turnover because a large percentage of our residents have been living here for over 10 years. We invite you to come visit and see for yourself why people make Canyon Villas their home.

August 14, 2015What a great place to live!!! It is lush w/old greenery, mature citrus trees galore. Quiet grounds, friendly management, attentive and spot-on superintendent/maintenance. Two beautiful, pristine pools. The Indian Canyon Golf Course and its delicious dining are right across the street. Safe neighborhood for walking all hours of the day and night. Pet friendly!!! Best of all are the scenic hiking trails across and at the end of the street!Review from Apartments.com
