One Step above homelesness
December 29, 2025Casa Del Sol Apartments present well at first glance, with landscaping and cosmetic finishes that suggest a well-maintained community. However, based on my experience over several years, the underlying conditions tell a very different story. Recurring water shut-offs have been a continual issue for approximately five years, often taking place with little to no advance notice. Plumbing problems appear to be chronic, including sewage backups, massive leaks and pipe failures that have resulted in ...unpleasant conditions and disruptions. Security has also been a concern: it is not uncommon to find homeless individuals and vehicles on the property, and on multiple occasions residents have discovered their cars damaged or on blocks missing wheels. The front security gate is frequently left open for days or weeks, and parking becomes nearly impossible after 4pm or late afternoon due to non-residents occupying spaces. Maintenance and amenities are inconsistent. The pool and Jacuzzi have been closed by the city repeatedly due to sanitation or compliance problems, and shared areas are often affected by strong odors, including marijuana smoke in common hallways. Noise disturbances, domestic disputes, and regular police presence contribute to an environment that feels far from stable or peaceful. In summary, while Casa Del Sol may appear attractive from the outside, those considering living here should be aware of the persistent infrastructure failures, safety concerns, and quality-of-life issues. In my view, it may be best suited only for those with no alternative housing options.Property Manager Responded

That said, this anonymous review contains broad and generalized claims that do not align with our documented maintenance records, city inspection history, or the overall experience of the majority of our residents. Casa del Sol operates in compliance with all local and state habitability standards, and any infrastructure repairs or temporary service interruptions are addressed by licensed professionals and communicated to residents whenever possible. As an established community, routine maintenance, capital improvements, and occasional repairs are part of responsible property management. Amenity closures, when they occur, are temporary and are implemented to ensure resident safety and regulatory compliance. Security, parking, and community standards are actively monitored, and reports of unauthorized access, noise, or disturbances are addressed promptly ...when brought to our attention. We strongly encourage current residents to contact the management office directly with any concerns so they can be properly reviewed, documented, and resolved. Anonymous online commentary does not allow us to investigate specific situations or provide meaningful resolution. Casa del Sol is home to many long-term residents who value the community and the ongoing improvements being made. Prospective residents are welcome to visit the property, speak with our team, and form their own opinion based on firsthand experience. Lipstack Slapped on a Pig; Leasing Team Horrible
September 12, 2024Location is great. Reason for 1 star. Great too that they have some units with a patio and attached garage. Reason for 2 star. But no other stars because Complex on the surface looks good, especially compared to other complexes in HB. However, when they prepare a unit for a new tenant they just paint over the old paint with out any primer or sanding so you see all the areas where paint previously peeled and new paint easily peels. , They moved the knobs on the cabinets, instead of putting in new ...cabinets, and patched the holes but didn't sand so you see the patch. The faucets in the kitchen and bathroom leak and need to be replaced due to corrosion. When it rains there's frequent mold issues in the garage. As they say "they slapped lipstick on a pig" to get by but the stuff they do is lazy and doesnt fix the issue. Now for the leasing office team, don't expect any help from them. Once they lure you in to rent a unit, they aren't willing to help you out if you have issues with your unit. They definitely don't go above and beyond to help the tenants. They spend their time and money on planning food truck visits and ice cream socials rather than putting money back into the complex or helping residents with serious issues concerning the complex.Property Manager Responded

Dirty Pools
April 5, 2024It used to be a great place to live. Now it has become a homeless people hangout place. The pools are always dirty and closed several times per year because the health inspection needs to shut them down! Stay away ...
June 28, 2023I recently lived in this apartment and and left because I had a terrible experience due to rat infestations and many other things. Despite numerous complaints to the management, the issue was not adequately addressed and I was left to deal with it on my own. This apartment complex also has issues with lack of parking at night time and homeless individuals wandering around the complex. While I empathize with their situations, their presence makes me feel uneasy and unsafe. Save yourself the hassle ...and avoid this apartment at all cost.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Good place to live
March 23, 2022It's very close to the beach. People are quite nice, and the place is very clean and well maintained. I gave a 3 stars because there's an office guy named 'Freddy'. He seems nice at first but he's extremely defensive, and he's consistently using reasons, excuses when I bring maintenance requests that had been delayed for days.Property Manager Responded

Security and Vandalism
April 5, 2021I've lived here for 2 years and I can also guarantee you that your car will get crashed into here. Drunk drivers consistently use the front parking as a place to sleep and rest. There is absolutely no security monitoring this and I was involved in a hit and run leaving $2,000 worth of damage to my car. Even with a police report nothing...... There is no parking and lots of riff raff walking the streets out in front late at night. The amenities have been closed for over a year and they have no ...plans to open these anytime soon. Some decent things about this place is the location and the price of rent. The actual units are ok and clean when you move in. The moment they raise the rent this place will no longer have any appeal. This is an ok place to move in as your first apartment,Property Manager Responded

We can clarify that HBPD did come out, though our software is not equipped to provide them with the details needed. To prevent incidents like this from happening we do have security that patrols the property nightly and our team in the office is happy to assist file a complaint. In regards to our amenities, due to Covid-19, the amenities had to be closed for longer than anticipated. The pool is set to be opening soon, and we will notify residents as soon as we have a date. Warning !
June 7, 2020Yes the rent may be cheap and you’re a mile from the beach. Two of my bikes were stolen and my neighbors also had their belongings stolen. The laundry is also stolen frequently. The dumpster are always over flowing and there are homeless people rummaging through it. People let their dogs poop everywhere and they don’t clean it up. The manager Arlene doesn’t respond to requests. This has been my experience. Not good. Looking to move as soon as my lease expires.Property Manager Responded
