    Nasty laundry rooms, bugs in the summer, icy walkways in the winter, only one washer and dryer per building and a management team that could care less. My refrigerator broke and it took them 3 tries to get it fixed. Maintenance ruined my floors in those 3 attempts and they haven't tried a single time to fix them. They randomly decided to give out new parking spaces and has demanded I park where instructed yet Noone does and my spot is always taken. I tried asking for my original spot back since ...
    it was convenient, and even shared how my cancer diagnosis is getting more difficult and need a closer location, and they denied it. Our single washer in the building has been broken for a week. Part is apparently backordered? So they don't keep things in stock to even fix our buildings. Beacon Management only wants your money. They do not care about their residents! Do Not Live Here.

Residents are responsible for reporting any issues directly to that company using the phone number posted on the machines, as we do not service, clean, or order parts for the equipment. We also take parking and accommodation requests seriously and work to ensure reasonable solutions are provided when appropriate.     I am not bring paid to write this review and did not get compensated. Although slight issues come up, the staff works quickly to fix them. The property is well maintained and there is constant communication from management about updates. They have a very easy to use online system and their office is always open. I have a second floor unit and have never had a leak, pest issue, etc. They ensured I had new carpet. The kitchens are huge, as are the decks. Neighbors are friendly and no unmanaged ...
    pets. The staff only demands very reasonable things of the tenants (not parking in other spots, don’t overflow dumpsters etc. ) and are very on top of issues that come up. They are human beings and really try to accommodate when they can. Last year they completely repaved (not just patched) the entire parking lot which made a huge difference. The basement storage is awesome. The location is quiet and the night next to Orchard Lake for half the price. Honestly the best apartment I have ever lived in.

    I lived here for about 4 years because it was cheap and good location for school/work. PROS: - Maintenance is good, generally very quick and friendly to come out - 1 covered parking spot. Generally enough parking space, sometimes I'd have a bit longer walk than normal, but not too much - Lake view is nice if you get one of those apartments - Walls between units are thick, I never heard my neighbors CONS: - They raise prices every year I was there. - There is 1 washer and 1 dryer for each ...
    building (11 units). And there was a 3 month period where the washer was broken and instead of getting a new one they'd "fix" it and then it would be broken by end of the week again. Unacceptable. - Office is VERY understaffed and don't expect them to return your phone calls if you leave a message or even if you can get ahold of them and they say they will call you back. You have to hound them and most likely knock on the office door to get ahold of anybody. - My dish washer was useless. It did not clean any speck of food off dishware, it was a glorified sanitizer. If you have a newer dish washer you should be ok though. - Very hard water, be ready to deal with mineral stains - Walls between bedrooms in apartment are thin

    The only issue i have about living here is the marujuna smoking in apts and wafting into the next unit. I am having this problem right now i am a asthmatic and last week i had a asthma attack. This is a health risk and issue for me. It also is in the halls i have reported this issue every time it happens i have lived here for 7 yrs and i really dont want to live here much longer with pot smoke coming into my apt its not good for my asthma .

    I would say this is one of the best apartments I've lived at. Not only is there a veteran discount, but they replaced a faulty stove right away and the maintenance is always prompt and polite. I rarely give 5 stars to apartments but this one deserves it and since they changed the staff at the office, the politeness level has gone up drastically.     Five stars for the units and grounds being well maintained. Five stars for location. One star for leasing office. I've been trying to resolve a lease issue for four years without success. Agents are compltely unwilling to listen to you and try to resolve the issue. They just repeatedly complain about 'corporate' without even making an effort to resolve the problem.

  • Good place but there are issues that are not addressed

    I live on the third floor and the people below me smoke cigarettes so much in their apartment that the smell is coming into my living room and bedroom. I have sent an email to management letting them know about this and the front office and NOTHING has been done. The smell is so bad in my apartment that I keep getting headaches from the smell every day, this is second-hand smoke. The apartment is very nice, but for how much I pay I should not have to deal with this for the next year. I was ...
    told there were cleaning people who vacuum the stairs and landings and this has not been the case. The stairs and landings are dirty. I vacuum the area on the third floor. The washing machine has black mold in the dispenser where you put your detergent. It's nice to have access to the washer and dryer and everyone keeps them and the area clean. The good thing is my apartment is nice, spacious and was ready to move right in. The exception again is the cigarette smell all the time in my apartment. The grounds are nice, good neighbors and the kids in the area are very well behaved. The area is quiet and the access to the lake is nice. When I first moved in I had two issues with the apartment and the maintenance guy came and fixed them right away. He was a great, very professional and has been here for a few years.

  • Decent Place with a Few Issues

    The maintenance and grounds keepers are always working hard— they do a really nice job! I have a 2 bedroom with 1 and 1/2 bath— it has plenty of space and I like all the closet space in the units. Main issues— we signed a lease for a year and were led to believe we would have a washer and dryer hookup in our apartment— that is how it is advertised online and what was told to us in the leasing office. After we had signed, they told us washer and dryer were in the basement— our unit doesn’t have ...
    one apparently, but we had already signed. In addition, really poor paint job— sloppy, and our balcony was left unfinished with particle board. We can see other apartment balconies have some type of rubber finish over the wood, but ours was never completed (we have lived here for a year)— and I’m going to discuss it with the leasing office next week. You literally walk out and get splinters because the balcony hasn’t been completed. Also the people in the leasing office literally force you to rush through everything— like make you sign because “there’s others who will sign if you don’t, you have to come in today”— even if that means taking time off of work. It just makes you feel pressured, and it shouldn’t be that way when you’re trying to decide the place you want to live.

    I moved into the Shore Club 6 years ago after my divorce. It was going to be a temporary landing pad, but now 6 years later, I can’t see myself leaving anytime soon. The grounds are always well kept, maintenance is done quickly, the office staff and complex manager are always friendly and working to keep the place clean and in good repair. The lakefront units provide great views year round and there are boat docks for lease in the summer to enjoy all sports Cass Lake, the largest lake in Oakland ...
    County. Where else can you get an amenity like that? My kids love it here too....they have friends over to swim in the pool and lake all summer. I highly recommend this place, it’s great.
