Always Adding Charges
October 23, 2024I've lived here for about 3 years. And I am lucky to have moved in when I did. When I moved in these things were free/included: pet fee, storage unit, parking, utilities. Now they charge a pet fee, storage unit fee and utilities are separate. Just today they changed parking policies. One of the best things this place had going for it was the giant parking lot with free parking for residents and visitors- there has never been a time when the parking lot was full- we have more than enough parking! ...Originally the policy was that visitors can park in visitor parking for up to 24 hours and any longer, they needed a pass from the office. IT WAS ALWAYS FREE. Per the email: "Visitor parking is free for the first two hours within a 24-hour period. After two hours, visitors will be charged $8.00 to extend their parking overnight." Soon, residents will be charged $5 a month. Frankly, I would prefer to pay $10 if it means I can have visitors here free of charge. Smoking Allowed Inside
January 10, 2023I've lived here for over a year and really wanted to call this place a permanent home. And generally, I like the place-free and ample parking and big units but lately I can't get past the lack of respectful neighbors and management's refusal to do anything. SMOKING is permitted but it is obviously not openly advertised. It is smoke-friendly because it doesn't say otherwise. A naive mistake on my end. My neighbors who moved in after me chain smoke and live in a unit without a balcony. The smoke ...comes through the VENTS and when I open my KITCHEN CABINETS, the smell of cigarette smoke is there. It's gross. I have to leave my windows open and then can't turn on the heat because it makes the smell worse. I'm living in a freezer right now-it's miserable. Management told me originally they could warn the neighbors on the grounds that they were bothering another tenant- smoking stopped for months and then new management came in and the smoking inside started back up. They said there was NOTHING they could do except move but rent prices could go up and suggested getting a humidifier. This is despite there being a clause in the lease that says: "Lessee shall not make or permit to be made any disturbing noises or do or permit any act which will unreasonably interfere with the rights, comforts or convenience of other Lessees or employees of Lessor." The lease also states that smoking isn't allowed in common areas and yet the hallway routinely smells like cigarette smoke. Find another place to live. :(Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
